Treat Your Skin to a Better Clean with the ToiletTree Professional Skin Care System-Giveaway

March 4, 2013 by Kathryn 96 Comments

My skin and I have been in a love/hate relationship ever since I was a teenager. When it looks good, it looks really good. But when it starts to break out, it seems to just get worse and worse for weeks. It drives me crazy! So when ToiletTree Products, a company whose Fogless Shower Mirror and Toiletry Travel Bag I’ve featured on Mommy Kat and Kids in the past, contacted me about reviewing its new Professional Skin Care System, I knew I had to try it out.

toilettree skin care systemI’ve always been fascinated by the concept of facial brushes. There are a few different brands on the market and the basic idea is that the gentle scrubbing will help stimulate cell regeneration while using the brush instead of hands will minimize the dirt and oil that is spread around the face and provide a deeper, more thorough clean. The ToiletTree Professional Skin Care System was unique in a few different ways. First of all, it actually included four different brush heads: a gentle facial brush for cleansing, a medium facial brush for exfoliating, a large soft brush for cleansing the body and a pumice attachment for feet and rough patches of skin on the body. It is powered by AA batteries and features a waterproof design making it perfect for use in the shower. [Read more…]

Organize Your Summer Travel Necessitites with the ToiletTree Products Toiletry Bag-Giveaway

July 13, 2012 by Kathryn 141 Comments

Summer means travel and travel means luggage. And in our family, keeping all our luggage separated, organized and easy to access is no easy task. Especially when it comes to toiletries!

toilettree products toiletry bagMy husband has two or three different toiletry bags to keep his shampoo, conditioner, razors, shaving accessories and cologne organized and separate from the rest of the family. But for the longest time, I was stuck using a small and crowded makeup bag to carry both my boys’ toothbrushes and personal care products as well as my own cosmetics, skincare and other bathroom accessories.

So when I heard about the new Toiletry Bag from ToiletTree Products, I was thrilled. I had reviewed the company’s ingenious Fogless Shower Mirror in the past and having seen for myself how simple and effective the company’s products were, I knew that this bag would be something special. ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror-Review and Giveaway

March 15, 2011 by Kathryn 400 Comments

I once read a quote that said, “Until you become a parent, you don’t realize that showering is a luxury.” I hadn’t been a parent for very long before I learned just how right that quote had been. When you have a baby, finding time to hop into the shower is no easy task, and even if you do get your baby to sleep and try to take a shower, imagined cries and phantom noises often have you jumping out again in a matter of minutes.

toilettree fogless shower mirror in useAs a result, I have lately been favouring late night showers. Benjamin still wakes up in the middle of the night, but he is usually fairly consistent about his sleep and, even more importantly, my husband is home so I can rest easy knowing that if my baby does wake up, his father will be there to comfort him until I finish. Thanks to adopting this new nighttime showering routine, I finally have the chance to do something in the shower I haven’t done for over four years…relax!

I also finally have time to pamper myself with some of my favourite products and beauty treatments, but to properly apply a facial scrub or neaten up my eyebrows in the shower, a mirror can really be essential. So when I received the chance to review the ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror, I couldn’t wait to give it a try.

When the mirror arrived, the first thing that I noticed was the mounting system. I had been petrified that the mirror was going to come with the horrible suction cups that so many shower products seem to feature. I have never in my life been able to get anything to stick to the wall of my shower with suction cups, so I was thrilled they weren’t used on the Fogless Mirror. Instead, a combination of double-sided tape and silicone were used to mount the mirror to the wall of the shower for a strong and secure hold that wouldn’t damage the surface.

The mirror and the mounting stand are two separate pieces so my husband attached the mounting stand to the shower wall using the included tape and silicone and let it dry for the recommended 24 hours. Then I slipped the mirror onto the stand and decided to test it out!

Initially, I had assumed that the mirror was treated in some manner to resist fogging. I had seen similar products before, but their effectiveness was very inconsistent. After reading more about the ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror, I realized that the mirror hadn’t needed special coatings to make it fogless. Instead, the unique patent-pending design that featured a water reservoir at the back of the mirror was what made the mirror fogless. Before using the mirror, I simply filled the reservoir with hot tap water and then mounted the mirror back on the bracket. The water acted to neutralize the air temperature so that the mirror wouldn’t fog. The design was simple and completely ingenious!

I spent at least half an hour in the shower and sure enough, the mirror didn’t fog up once. I loved the way that the mirror featured a handy little shell that was the perfect size for a razor or a pair of tweezers. I also appreciated the included squeegee that made cleaning away drops of water a breeze.

toilettree fogless shower mirrorMy husband loved the ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror just as much as I did. Since receiving it, he no longer shaves at the sink since he finds that he gets a closer and more comfortable feel when he shaves in the shower instead. Thanks to the Fogless Shower Mirror, he can do so without missing a spot!

I think the ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror is an absolutely brilliant idea. It is simple, effective and makes performing any task in the shower so much easier. Performing personal grooming tasks in the shower is actually much better for your skin since the pores are open and the skin has plenty of moisture. With the ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror, personal care in the shower is as easy as can be!
