Minimize Wedding Season Stress with 4 Simple Tips #ChurchandDwight

May 5, 2016 by Kathryn 32 Comments

Did you know that May is the unofficial start of wedding season? Even though my own wedding isn’t until October, that doesn’t mean there won’t be other celebrations over the warm spring and summer months. In fact, both Jeremy and I have cousins getting married between now and our own wedding! I’ll admit that the thought of those multiple events, and the prep that goes with them, has my head spinning a bit already. Just being a guest at numerous weddings can be taxing! Luckily, Church & Dwight has four great tips for a stress-free wedding season:

Changing My Oral Health with the #PhilipsSonicare FlexCare Platinum

December 23, 2013 by Kathryn 59 Comments

About a year ago, I switched from a manual toothbrush to an electric one and the difference in my teeth was pretty amazing. After trying an electric toothbrush, there’s no way that I’ll ever go back to a manual one. But this year, Philips Sonicare challenged me to trade my current electric toothbrush for the Sonicare FlexCare Platinum and I couldn’t wait to see how it worked for me.

The Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum has so much technology packed into it that sets it apart from other electric toothbrushes. The patented sonic technology deliver 31,000 brushstrokes a minute and removes up to seven times more plaque between teeth than a manual brush. I really liked the fact that the brush had different intensity levels since my teeth are sensitive and can’t take too much pressure. The lowest setting was perfect for me and let me get a thorough clean without being too hard on my mouth.

Get a Brighter Smile with the Smile Brilliant LED Teeth Whitening Kit-Giveaway

April 4, 2013 by Kathryn 101 Comments

There’s something about a bright white smile that just improves appearance instantly, but whiting teeth at the dentist is a huge hassle and home whitening can take up a lot of time. Smile Brilliant is a company that specializes in professional level at-home whitening and the company’s LED whitening kit is designed for people that want to whiten their smile quickly and easily. I recently received the LED Teeth Whitening Kit to review and I couldn’t wait to see how it worked.

The set contains a whitening pen, a tiny application brush, silicone protective trays and the LED light. Using the system is simple. Simply paint the whitening gel, which uses enamel-safe hydrogen peroxide, onto the teeth, using the tiny brush for small areas between teeth. Then put the protective trays over the teeth to hold the gel in place, turn on the LED light and place it in the mouth for a minimum of twenty minutes. Whitening is said to be noticeable after as little as one week of use.

REMBRANDT and REACH Tooth Whitening Products-Review and Giveaway

June 10, 2011 by Kathryn 706 Comments

Summer is now less than two weeks away and like so many other women, I want to look pretty and polished when the warm weather keeps me outdoors all day. There are so many more chances to socialize and enjoy public events in the summertime and even though my kids don’t leave me much time for primping or pampering, I still want to head out the door looking my best.

rembrandt form-fit whitening stripsOne of the easiest ways to make a great first impression is with a bright white smile, but that was something that I simply didn’t have. A love of coffee, tea and red wine had gradually left my teeth an unattractive yellow shade and my front two teeth were especially bad with noticeable brown staining in the front. I hated my stained teeth, but I wasn’t sure what to do about it.

Then I got the chance to review an assortment of whitening products from REMBRANDT and REACH and I was absolutely thrilled. Finally, I might just be able to get rid of the dingy yellow stains marring my pearly whites!

When the products arrived, I looked them over eagerly. I received the REMBRANDT FORM-FIT Whitening Strips, REMBRANDT DEEPLY WHITE + Peroxide Fresh Mint Toothpaste, REMBRANDT DEEPLY WHITE + Peroxide Whitening Mouthwash, REACH Total Care Plus Whitening Toothbrush and REACH Total Care Plus Whitening Dental Floss to review. I decided to try the FORM-FIT Whitening Strips first since I had never tried a whitening strip before.

I read the information on the box and was relieved to see that the REMBRANDT strips used the same enamel-safe whitening ingredient as dentists use. I decided to test out the strips the following week starting on Monday since the strips are meant to be used once daily for a period of five days.

The strips were quite thick and had a waxy texture that allowed me to press them onto my teeth for the closest possible fit. I rinsed my mouth with water as instructed, pressed the upper strip onto my upper teeth, folded the tabs under to hold the strip in place and then repeated the process with the smaller bottom strip. Then, all I had to do was wait.

rembrandt deeply white plus peroxide fresh mint toothpastePersonally, I found the strips very uncomfortable to wear. I couldn’t close my mouth while wearing them and I also seemed to produce a lot of saliva. I spent my first ten minutes sitting with a roll of paper towel by my side and periodically wiping my mouth as I waited for time to pass. Eventually, I decided to get a bit of work done on my blog. While I was working, the time passed far more quickly and I wasn’t bothered by the strips nearly as much. Even so, though, I definitely can’t say that wearing the strips was an enjoyable experience.

But the strips aren’t meant to be enjoyable, of course. They’re made to be effective and they certainly were. After two days, my husband was blown away by the difference in my tooth colour and after the full five days I was delighted by how much whiter my smile had become. There was still a small amount of brown discolouration on one of my front teeth, but the yellow dinginess that had been so noticeable before I used the strips was all but gone! My white smile was worth every minute I had spent wearing the strips.

I was afraid to use tooth whitening strips in the past because I have sensitive teeth and I had heard horror stories from some of my friends about how badly their teeth hurt after using other brands of whitening strips. Fortunately, REMBRANDT FORM-FIT Whitening Strips are nothing like other brands. The strips were incredibly gentle and I didn’t notice any problems with increased sensitivity after using them. The strips are definitely a great choice for anyone that is apprehensive about tooth whitening strips because of sensitivity problems!

Once I had whitened my smile, I used the REMBRANDT DEEPLY WHITE toothpaste and mouthwash to continue the whitening process over the next few weeks. Both products use Sodium Fluoride to strengthen tooth enamel and Hydrogen Peroxide to safely whiten teeth. The toothpaste and mouthwash maintained my new, whiter smile and I noticed the brown staining on my front tooth continued to fade over the next few days until it was finally virtually invisible.

The innovative REACH Total Care Plus Whitening Toothbrush and Floss also helped to ensure that my smile stayed its brightest. These products were some of the most innovative whitening tools I have ever seen. The toothbrush contained calcium carbonate bristles to whiten teeth as I brushed and the floss used microgroove technology and baking soda to help remove stains from coffee, tea and wine.

reach total care plus whitening flossThe floss was something I really thought was a fantastic idea. There are so many products to whiten the surface of teeth, but very few products that are appropriate for dealing with stains between teeth. The REACH Total Care Plus Whitening Floss was just the product I had always needed!

I am thrilled by the results I saw from the REMBRANDT and REACH whitening products and I am so glad that my smile will be so white this summer. If you want to start the summer season looking your best, why not start by ensuring you’re wearing your best and brightest smile? With REMBRANDT and REACH, gentle and effective whitening is quick, easy and beautiful!
