Spice Up Your Relationship with 3 Easy Tips this Valentine’s Day

February 13, 2017 by Kathryn 93 Comments

It’s a known fact that almost every relationship starts to lose some of its initial passion and romance as time goes on and years go by. While the comfort and security that takes the place of that passion is a great thing, it’s always nice to spice things up and bring some heat back to a relationship once again…especially around Valentine’s Day! That’s why Trojan has three tips for heating up things in the bedroom during your next rendezvous, along with a sizzling giveaway you won’t want to miss!

  1. Dirty talk, clean space. There’s nothing like hotel or vacation sex. Having sex in a new environment can help us feel more spontaneous or adventuresome. But time and money for a holiday aren’t always available. Recreate vacation sex by making your bedroom your sexual sanctuary. Remove clutter, invest in good sheets and set the mood. Research suggests women, in particular, have a hard time getting aroused in a dirty and messy place. If you want to make the night extra memorable, introduce a vibrator for her like the Trojan™ Power Wand Vibrations Massager. Let the talk be dirty, and the room be clean – your sex life will thank you.

Show Off Your Love this Valentine’s Day with an Initial Heart Necklace from Angelica Joy Jewelry-Giveaway

February 9, 2016 by Kathryn 150 Comments

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re looking for a gift that will let your special someone share their love with the world, Angelica Joy Jewelry has the perfect solution for you! The company’s gorgeous Initial Heart Necklaces are a perfect gift choice for a special lady in your life and with both sterling silver and gold necklaces available, these custom-made pieces are sure to warm her heart.

I received a necklace of my own in Sterling Silver to review and while these necklaces are often personalized with the initials of children, I decided to go a different route and get the initials of myself and my fiance. Since we have a wedding coming up on October, I thought that this necklace would be wonderful not just for everyday wear but also for our wedding day. I requested a J and K on the necklace and eagerly waited for it to arrive.

Let Pantene, COVERGIRL and Crest Glam Your Look for Valentine’s Day Date Night

February 14, 2015 by Kathryn 204 Comments

As a work-from-home mom, dressing up is not really a part of my daily routine. In fact, I fully admit that I am one of those parents that sometimes walks my boys to school wearing pyjama pants. (Okay, okay, I sometimes pick them up after school in pyjama pants too!) Getting dressed just to sit at home working all day has never made much sense to me. But since my workweek is so relaxed, I tend to go all out when I do get the chance to dress up.

And that means that when I leave the house for an elegant Valentine’s Day dinner, I’m going to be looking my absolute best. While I haven’t decided which dress and heels I’ll be wearing quite yet, I do know that I’ll be curling my hair and putting on my favourite date night makeup! And with help from Pantene, COVERGIRL and Crest Whitestrips, I’m sure my look will get a great reaction!

My hair is quite fine, but I have so much of it that it tends to be rather limp. I love curling it but because of its weight the curls often lose their bounce quickly. That’s why I’ve fallen in love with the Pantene Pro-V Full & Strong collection. The shampoo and conditioner strengthen my hair without weighing it down. And the Pantene Pro-V PowerFULL Body Booster Spray is my secret weapon when styling my hair. I just spray the formula on my damp strands, use my Conair Infiniti Pro Curl Secret to add curls and then set the curls with a quick spritz of hairspray for a look that lasts all night. [Read more…]

Surprise Your Kids with Easy Heart-Healthy Valentine’s Day Snacks

February 12, 2015 by Kathryn 46 Comments

When I was younger, we usually got one or two treats at most on Valentine’s Day. In the morning, we had a special breakfast of heart-shaped Jell-O. Since it was a once-a-year treat we were always very excited about digging into the red jiggling hearts.

Later that day, we each received a small heart-shaped box of assorted chocolates, usually featuring a fun cartoon character on the front.

Times have changed a lot since then and while I still prefer a minimalist approach to the day, there’s not much I can do about the huge packages of candy my boys bring home from school.

Valentine’s Day has become almost like a second Halloween for many, and every cute paper Valentine that is exchanged at school now also includes chocolate, lollipops or other treats.

So what’s a parent with a desire for healthy Valentine’s Day snacks to do? Get creative of course! February is also Heart Health Month and one of the best ways to ensure a healthy heart is by eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. That’s why, instead of Jell-O this year, I’ll be feeding my boys these adorable Fruit Pops for breakfast!

Just stick a skewer into a strawberry or slice of banana, dip it in your children’s favourite natural yoghurt and then roll the pop in granola! While I store the pops in the refrigerator until serving, I’m sure they would be delicious frozen as well. [Read more…]
