Start a #2015Revolution This Year with Special K-Giveaway

January 22, 2015 by Kathryn 219 Comments

I’ve said many times in the past that I don’t much like the concept of a New Year’s Resolution. I find that people tend to end up having an “all or nothing” attitude when they make resolutions, which results in many giving up completely at the first misstep. However, I do think that the new year is a great time to set some goals for the coming months. Knowing that success might not be immediate takes off the pressure and lets me move forward at my own pace, something that’s led to my accomplishing many of my goals over the years.

Recently, Special K surveyed Canadians to see how they felt about New Year’s Resolutions and the results showed that I’m not the only one that’s not a fan of the popular tradition. In fact, according to participants, only 23% of Canadians have ever achieved a New Year’s Resolution. That’s not a very good success rate for any goal! And almost half of the women surveyed had no motivation to complete a resolution at all. [Read more…]

My Top 3 Health and Wellness Goals for 2015

January 14, 2015 by Kathryn 121 Comments

While I don’t usually make specific New Year’s Resolutions, January for me has always been a time to reflect on the successes of the past year and make new goals for the year ahead. This year, there are a few different aspects of my life that I aim to improve and one of those is my health and fitness level.

I’m at a healthy weight overall, but I know that there are many nutritional areas I could improve and since I’ll soon be turning 34, ensuring good health is only going to get more and more important as the years go by. So for 2015, these are my top three health and fitness goals:

1. Exercise

I have to admit that exercising regularly is never something I’ve enjoyed. And for the most part I haven’t really needed to do it either since I walk or bike when running errands and live a fairly active lifestyle overall. But with my boys growing older and gaining more independence, I find I’m not moving around as much as I used to. That’s why for 2015, I’ve decided that in addition to my daily physical activity, I will do at least 30 minutes of strength-training three times a week. My daily errands may give me the cardio workout I need, but they aren’t very effective at building muscle! [Read more…]

Try Karma Wellness Water and Enter the Push Good Karma Contest to Support Your Favourite Charity-Giveaway

August 18, 2014 by Kathryn 128 Comments

Some time ago I discovered Karma Wellness Water, an innovative new health water available in five delicious and vitamin-enriched flavours. The innovative beverage uses a special UV-blocker cap to ensure that vitamins are kept at maximum potency by keeping the active ingredients out of light and moisture. When it’s time for some extra energy, I just pull off the top of the cap, press down in the center to release the vitamins into the water and then shake the bottle to mix it up.

In addition to being a delicious and hydrating beverage, Karma Wellness Water is naturally sweetened with stevia so that it has just twenty calories per bottle. And the five different formulations are specifically designed to provide just the health boost I’m looking for. From the orange mango flavour that encourages sharper thinking to the acai pomberry flavour that boosts immunity, the essential vitamins in each bottle have me charged up and ready to tackle my day no matter what I’m doing! Karma Wellness Water Naturally Energizes for Healthy Living

February 22, 2014 by Kathryn 67 Comments

I’ve been on a mission to live a little better this year, from eating healthier to getting more exercise. And one of the simplest and most effective ways I’ve found to improve my health is to get enough liquid every day. I’m pretty good about staying properly hydrated, but there are times when I just don’t want another glass of water. Water enriched with vitamins has become popular for just this reason, since it combines hydration with great flavour and added health benefits. But after reading the labels, I’ve found that some brands have questionable nutritional value and sometimes even artificial sweeteners, something I avoid with a passion.

Karma Wellness Water sounded like just the product I needed. Sweetened naturally with stevia and a touch of cane sugar, it contained just 20 calories per bottle with five tempting flavours to choose from. I loved the low calories, fruit flavours and natural ingredients that Karma Wellness Water featured. But it wasn’t until I received a few bottles to review that I saw how different this new beverage really is.
