3 Tips to Increase Your Inner Peace During The Holidays

November 28, 2016 by Kathryn 22 Comments

Staying calm, peaceful and balanced is hard at the best of times, but during the busy holiday season it can sometimes feel impossible. This year especially, stress is taking its toll on my well-being more than ever as we settle into a new house in a new city, prepare to shop for our forever home, get the boys settled in a new school and deal with the overall hustle and bustle of the upcoming holidays.

That’s why I’ve decided to take steps to reclaim my inner peace and find my Zen so that I can enjoy the holiday season to its fullest. And these are the three ways I’ll be doing that!

Early Morning Meditation

Daily meditation offers a plethora of benefits, including increased mental focus, improved immunity, reduced blood pressure and improved memory. But finding the time to meditate when life gets busy can feel almost impossible. That’s why I’ve started setting my alarm fifteen minutes early so that I can use that extra time to reflect and prepare for the day.

By meditating first thing in the morning, I don’t feel like I’m stopping my work flow or losing time. And those few minutes of self-reflection also help me to feel more peaceful and energized throughout the entire day. [Read more…]

Keep Pets Happy During March Break with Products from PetSafe Canada-Giveaway

March 18, 2015 by Kathryn 195 Comments

I absolutely love my pet cat, Racer. I hadn’t wanted a pet at first but she adopted me as soon as she walked into the house and quickly won me over with her quirky personality. But my family also loves to travel and that can be a challenge for a pet owner. Some families prefer to take their pets with them when travelling. Others find leaving the pet at home to be more manageable. But if you’re travelling this March Break, PetSafe Canada has products to help make your life easier, whether you’re bringing your furry companion with you or making her comfortable in the house during your absence.

Personally, I find it easiest to leave my cat at home when I travel with the boys. And recently PetSafe Canada sent me some products to help ensure that even when Racer is alone, she has all the food, water and entertainment she needs. I received the Eatwell 5 Meal Pet Feeder, the Drinkwell Zen Fountain and the FroliCat Dart Duo to review and I couldn’t wait to see what my finicky feline thought of them! [Read more…]

Treat Your Feet to Style and Comfort with Kravings by Klogs-Giveaway

September 24, 2013 by Kathryn 163 Comments

I am a little bit shoe obsessed and as a result, I have an entire set of shelves filled with my footwear. From cute boots to absurdly high heels to designer sandals to comfy flats, I pretty much always have a pair of shoes that will add the finishing touch to an outfit. But sometimes I still struggle to find shoes that meet that perfect balance between comfort and style…shoes that look stylish and dressy but that I can wear all day long. Kravings by Klogs offers shoes that do just that and recently I received a pair of the Taylor Red Full Grain pumps from the new Kravings by Klogs fall line to test out. These shoes looked adorable and incredibly comfortable, so I couldn’t wait to see how they worked for me.

I tend to wear shoes between an 8 and an 8½ in North American sizing and so I went for the larger size with these shoes. As soon as they arrived, I knew that was the wrong move. The reason I sometimes need a larger size is that narrow shoes tend not to fit my foot well, but the Kravings shoes are made wider to begin with so that as the foot naturally swells during the day, the shoes still feel great. Unfortunately, that meant that the size I chose was actually too long for my foot and doesn’t quite stay on the way they should. They are still wearable with heel grips but if you’re one of those women that hovers between two sizes when buying shoes, definitely go for the smaller size with this line. [Read more…]
