While I was very much a tomboy in my younger years, I revel in feminine things now that I’m an adult. Makeup, pretty dresses, fancy jewellery…in a house full of males they make me feel beautiful and girly. The pearls all looked perfectly even and round to my eye and had that shining lustre that only pearls have. I wore my pearl necklace with a few different outfits after receiving it and the other thing I quickly learned is that even though white pearls are a classic piece of jewellery, they don’t go with every outfit. I found that the pearls looked best with a simple scoop neckline and with solid colours rather than prints. My favourite outfit with which to pair my pearls was a cream-coloured crocheted dress I got in Cuba when I was in my early twenties. I used to wear it fairly often but I hadn’t put it on recently until a few weeks ago. As soon as I saw how wonderful the dress and the white pearls looked together, I knew I would be wearing the outfit much more often!
