Since I was either pregnant or breastfeeding for a full six years, I got into the habit of not using over-the-counter medications for most of my minor ailments and even though I now have the option of taking a painkiller or allergy pill when I need one, the habit of avoiding medications unless absolutely necessary is still sticking with me.
Considering the fact that I’ve suffered from occasional migraines since my tween years, not taking painkillers can be pretty hard sometimes. So when I got the chance to test out the AbsolutelyNew Headache Reliever, a unique clinically proven drug-free product to relieve headache pain, I was intrigued. I decided to give the product a try and see for myself what it was all about.
Basically, the Headache Reliever is a head wrap that features pockets for inserting the included gel packs, which can be used either hot or cold. By strapping the wrap around the head, the Headache Reliever provide soothing, consistent pressure that gently compresses blood vessels and relieves pain. I popped the gel packs in the freezer so they would be ready for when I needed them and set the wrap aside until I needed it.
A few weeks later I had an especially stressful day and, sure enough, I ended it with a throbbing headache. I pulled out the Headache Reliever, inserted the frozen gel packs and strapped it around my head. Then I lay back on the couch to relax for a few minutes.
The cold was incredibly soothing and while I did have to adjust the wrap once or twice when it started to feel too cold, I soon had it positioned so that I could just lay back in comfort. In a few minutes, I was starting to notice the pain wasn’t as strong. I was able to get up and get back to work still wearing the wrap and after another half-hour, the pain was almost completely gone!
I tried the Headache Reliever a few more times and I did find that it worked better with some types of headaches than others. Any time I was dealing with a throbbing headache, the wrap was especially effective at minimizing the pain. Some of my milder headaches didn’t seem to be as minimized when using the Headache Reliever. And occasionally, when my tight neck and shoulder muscles resulted in a headache, I found that using the Headache Reliever with hot gel packs was quite effective!
Overall, the Headache Reliever was a great drug-free way to reduce headache pain and while it’s not something I will use all the time, it’s handy to have on hand for those times when I’m faced with a painful headache that just won’t quit. If you suffer from headaches or migraines, you may want to give the Headache Reliever a try and see if it can help you handle your pain!
I get migraines and often find cold helps a tiny bit! This looks like a very convenient way to do it!
It really is quite convenient, and the pressure from the wrap helps a bit too, which is an added bonuis! :)
I really may have to try this. I am a chronic migraine sufferer, and they are mostly caused by our winds here in Lethbridge. I was told that cold cloths would help, so a wrap with a bit of pressure and cold gel packs really might help. I’ll check it out! Thanks so much for the info.

You’re so welcome Raylene! I’m happy I didn’t actually have a migraine recently but I do wish I’d had the chance to see how it worked on one. The reviews of it from others, even, though, have been pretty awesome!
This is just what I need! I suffer from occasional migraine, up to the point where I can’t function unless I sleep it off. With kids and work, who can afford to do that?
Oh my gosh, I know! Fortunately I don’t get them very often, but when I do…wow! I’m useless!
