Disney Junior is celebrating summer in a very special way this month and with the boys getting a little stir-crazy being at home, I couldn’t be happier about it. From hit shows to great movies, there’s tons of fun this month for kids of all ages!
The adventures kick off with a pirate and princess summer celebration. Kids can tune in weekdays at 6:30 pm EST to enjoy episodes of Sophia the First and Jake and the Never Land Pirates every single day! My youngest son Benjamin is a huge fan of Jake, Izzy, Cubby and Skully so he is pretty happy about being able to sit down and watch an episode of the show he loves every day. In fact, I even made him a cute pirate hat that he can wear when he watches the show! To make your own Jake and the Never Land Pirates hats, download this free printable template from the Disney Junior website!
But fun television shows for little ones are just the beginning of the party this summer on Disney Junior. Every Saturday at 6 pm EST, tune in for an exclusive commercial-free Disney movie! In fact, this upcoming Saturday July 27 is one of my very favourite Disney movies: the new Winnie the Pooh movie! What I love about this movie is that it really exemplifies the classic animation style and the importance of great storytelling. The movie doesn’t feature showy computer-enhanced animation or special effects, but it’s still one of our entire family’s favourite movies and always puts a smile on my face.
To celebrate our movie night, the boys and I decided to plan some fun Winnie the Pooh themed snacks. We’ll be having carrots from Rabbit’s garden, Tigger oranges made with a black washable marker and, of course, honey sandwiches! What sweeter treats could there be for enjoying the adventures of Pooh and his friends? And for fun games and colouring pages before the movie starts, check out the collection of Winnie the Pooh activities on the Disney Junior website!
So tune in to Disney Junior and get ready for all kinds of fun this summer with pirates, princesses and fabulous Disney movies the whole family can enjoy. It’s a great chance to make a craft, whip up a tasty snack and spend some time together!
