While my son loves building models with his building sets, what he loves even more is inventing his own structures and vehicles. He generally only follows the instructions that come with a building set once. Soon after, he’s taken apart the set and created something completely new. So when I told him that we were going to be using his KRE-O CityVille Invasion blocks to create a unique KRE-O Kreation, he was only too happy to oblige.
KRE-O sets are lots of fun for a child that builds the models and then acts out scenarios with the included characters. But the sets are even more fun once imagination takes over! The building possibilities are endless and my son was soon completely absorbed in creating something brand new with his KRE-O CityVille Invasion sets.
But as much as I love watching him hard at work, the highlight for me is hearing Zackary explain what he’s built. He has a vivid imagination and I feel like I get a glimpse into my son’s head when he tells me the story that inspired his KRE-O Kreation. He especially loves building small gadgets that create special effects for the characters in the set. From adding scoops to the front of a modified helicopter to pick up bad guys to building power grids and lasers for the Kreons to use when they battle, there’s plenty of original inventing going on when my son gets building!
Hasbro is giving your child a chance to get creative with KRE-O too! The company is very generously offering one lucky Mommy Kat and Kids reader a KRE-O CityVille Invasion Police Station Zombie Defense set worth $30! To enter to win, just leave a blog comment about whether your children prefer following the instructions in a building set or building something original.
And if your children love to build unique KRE-O Kreations too, email a picture of their KRE-O Kreation to [email protected] or tweet it using the #KREOCityVille hashtag and you’ll earn 10 extra entries into the giveaway! I’ll even make a collage of my favourite KRE-O Kreations and add it to this blog post!
I have been so impressed with the way that KRE-O CityVille Invasion sets inspire creativity in so many different ways. From the rich storylines of the sets to the special effects added by the Sonic Motion technology to the endless opportunities for imaginative building of KRE-O Kreations with the blocks themselves, these sets really have it all. Pick up one for your child this Christmas season and get ready to see his imagination run wild with KRE-O CityVille Invasion!

I have 1 son who likes to do his own thing and 1 son who likes to follow directions. He is often heard saying ‘no it has to be done this way–look’. But either way its fun. We don’t have any Kreo products yet just lego and mega blocks so this would be cool addition.
Both. Sometimes he is inspired by the pieces and starts to create. Sometimes he’ll try to make something like a picture he sees.
We don’t know yet, but I know my nephew doesn’t ha ha!
My nephew follows the instructions the first time and then once it’s dismantled it’s a free for all with the imagination :)
Never follow the instructions, always just picks it up and has fun trying to find new things to build!
My son is 4 and he LOVES to take things part and he is always finding a way to put things back togeather. I think he would enjoy this.
my child definitely likes to build on his own!
My son prefers that when we first open up a toy like this that I follow the instructions and build it the way it looks on the box (with no help from him except to hand me the pieces). After that, he takes it apart and just plays free style.
Definitely creating their own!
My daughter prefers to follow the instructions the first time, then she goes on to make her own creations.
