It’s no secret that I absolutely love my coffee, and even on the hottest summer days I drink more of it than I should.
But sometimes I crave something icy cold and refreshing that still gives me that caffeine boost that I love. At one time, I’d use those cravings as an excuse to buy an expensive iced cappuccino from a favourite coffee chain.
But then I decided to save my money by making my own version of the beverage and boy, was it ever a good choice!
Not only is the taste of my homemade iced cappuccino almost identical, but I can now enjoy an iced cappuccino any time I like!
For the best flavour, though, a strong dark roast coffee is essential and I’ve found that Margaritaville Pirate Gold coffee from SingleJo Coffee is the absolute best choice for this beverage.
There are a lot of iced cappuccino recipes that use instant coffee, but I just don’t think the drink has the same flavour unless it’s made with strong, freshly-brewed coffee.
And while some recipes simply use cream and sugar for sweetening, it just doesn’t seem to result in the same creamy texture that ice cream provides.
While the ice cream does make the drink more of an indulgence, I just can’t resist the resulting rich taste!
And using SingleJo Coffee for the recipe makes the drink so easy to whip up too! Instead of having to brew an entire pot of coffee, I can use just one coffee pod to make two servings of this summer treat.
Of course, the other fabulous thing about coffee from SingleJo is that it’s reasonably priced, ships right to my front door and has a design that uses 35% less packaging!
Even a few people I know that don’t like coffee fall in love with this iced cappuccino, so if you’re looking for a tasty and refreshing summer beverage, give the recipe a try and see what you think. You may never want to buy an expensive drink at a chain location again!
