Protect Yourself with Simple Crime Prevention Tips for Home, Travel and Online #LSSS

October 1, 2014 by Kathryn 2 Comments

There are few feelings more horrible than being the victim of a crime, even when it’s a fairly minor one. Living in a small town means that for the most part, I’ve been protected from that feeling but even in a more rural area there is still a need for crime prevention. In fact, my son and I woke up one morning this summer to find that our bikes had been stolen in the night. While my son’s bike was later recovered, mine is still missing and I still remember how upsetting that day was.

That’s why this month I’m excited to be sharing some of my favourite crime prevention tips as part of the Master Lock Live Secure Safety Squad. Whether you want to ensure your home is safe, protect yourself while travelling or stay secure online, there are a few simple steps you can take to ensure that you minimize your chances of becoming the victim of a crime.

Crime prevention is sometimes as simple as taking a few extra precautions and sometimes requires more effort depending on the situation, but every little measure you can take to protect yourself and your possessions still helps! What are your best crime prevention tips?

Good tips. I like being able to use smart devices to turn lights on and off when I’m not home.
