Let Pantene, COVERGIRL and Crest Glam Your Look for Valentine’s Day Date Night

As a work-from-home mom, dressing up is not really a part of my daily routine. In fact, I fully admit that I am one of those parents that sometimes walks my boys to school wearing pyjama pants. (Okay, okay, I sometimes pick them up after school in pyjama pants too!) Getting dressed just to sit at home working all day has never made much sense to me. But since my workweek is so relaxed, I tend to go all out when I do get the chance to dress up.

And that means that when I leave the house for an elegant Valentine’s Day dinner, I’m going to be looking my absolute best. While I haven’t decided which dress and heels I’ll be wearing quite yet, I do know that I’ll be curling my hair and putting on my favourite date night makeup! My hair is quite fine, but I have so much of it that it tends to be rather limp. I love curling it but because of its weight the curls often lose their bounce quickly. After that, it’s time for makeup. I love the classic smoky eye for date night and with a good set of makeup brushes, it’s not a hard look to achieve. I line my eyes with black eyeliner, use a small smudging brush to blend and soften the line, and then coat the rest of my eyelid with a dark grey shadow. A bit of white eyeshadow in the corner of my eye and under my brows brightens up the dark look, while a metallic shade along the lower lash line adds contrast.

With a dark eye like this, a neutral lip is always a good choice. Bright lips with such bold eye makeup tend to detract from the look and overwhelm the face. I usually just use clear gloss on my lips but this year, I’ve fallen in love with COVERGIRL Colorlicious Lipstick in Caramel Kiss. Since my lips have quite a bit of natural colour, the golden shade minimizes my mouth a bit to blend better with my look. A touch of gloss over the lipstick and I’m ready for romance!
