Celebrate 100 Years of P&G in Canada

When I visited the P&G factory in Cincinnati, one of the highlights of my trip was visiting the P&G Heritage Centre and learning more about the history of the company. When the husbands of two sisters decided to join forces and create Proctor and Gamble, nobody could have predicted the empire that would result. But with the creation of Ivory soap, the brothers launched a success story that most companies can only dream about.

And in 1915, P&G products came to Canada for the first time, which means the company is celebrating 100 years of being in Canada this year! This infographic highlights some of the key moments P&G has celebrated since the company incorporated in the great white north with just 75 employees.

To celebrate this monumental anniversary, P&G has a great giveaway of some of its most popular, time-tested products. One lucky Mommy Kat and Kids reader is going to win a prize pack containing Tide Original Scent Liquid Laundry Detergent, Bounce Outdoor Fresh Fabric Softener Sheets, Pantene Pro-V Classic All Hair Types Shampoo, Pantene Pro-V Classic Clean Conditioner, Ivory Soap Bars and Bounty Basic Paper Towels, a $45 value! To enter to win, just leave a blog comment about your favourite classic P&G product.

What I especially love about P&G is its passion for research and development, so no matter what product I choose, I know that it’s been scientifically designed to be the best it possibly can be. From the development of Tide and Gain laundry pods that fully dissolve even in cold water to the creation of odour-absorbing Febreze to the microscopic-level analysis of the fabric protection provided by Downy, there’s a reason P&G brands have enjoyed such longevity. And considering the company’s commitment to excellence, I’m sure it will be in Canada for 100 years more!

  1. Ivory soap! I remember growing up with Ivory bar soap. My dad use to wash his hair with it. Whenever I smell ivory soap now, I think of my dad!

  2. I love Ivory Snow -the bars smelled amazing when I was a kid. I still use Ivory but their body wash -smells great and works so well

  3. My favourite would have to be the Tide and the Bounty, those two have been around forever and have never let me down, well maybe the price a bit..lol but their performance is outstanding!!
