I’m pretty vocal about my love of fashion, and I put quite a bit of thought into selecting the perfect new pieces for my wardrobe. I’m a fan of combining pricey pieces from my favourite brands with discount finds to create unique looks that suit my own personal style. But despite my love of a good bargain, I’d never really thought of Giant Tiger as a place to go when expanding my wardrobe.
Then the popular Canadian retailer challenged me to Share the Secret about some of its exclusive women’s styles by heading out on a shopping spree and showing off my fashionable finds. Since I was preparing for a trip to Orlando in June and a Caribbean cruise in July, the timing couldn’t have been better. I headed to my local Giant Tiger store to see what kind of light, trendy summer wear the store had that would be a good fit for my vacations.
With exclusive brands including Lily Morgan, ACX Active and myStyle, I had plenty of options as soon as I walked through the door. In fact, the first item of clothing I saw was an airy Lily Morgan summer dress in the exact fit and flare style I generally favour. Available in a variety of bright shades, choosing a colour was no easy task! I decided on a rich blue shade and was so excited to see the dress cost only $12!
Next I wanted an outfit or two that were just made for cruising the Caribbean. A pair of Classic Editions crisp white crinkle capris were my first selection; I could pair them with almost any top and at just $12, they were a great deal too. I also chose an ACX printed blue tank that had a modern art style pattern I loved. While the built-in bra wasn’t quite able to handle my cleavage (cough, cough), I was sure it would still look great with one of my own bras underneath.
Then I saw the Lily Morgan lace shorts and immediately I wanted them. At $16, they were one of my more pricey purchases, but I love the look of lace shorts and knew they’d add an undeniably classy touch to my vacation wardrobe. Finding a shirt that matched was a bit more tricky since I wanted something that really brought out the shorts’ off-white shade. Eventually, a myStyle blue printed tank was my choice, while also being a steal at just $6!
