The holidays season is coming up quickly and that means it’s time to start getting ready for holiday guests and entertaining! I absolutely love decorating for Christmas and this year, I’ll be decorating in a new place as we’ve recently moved to a pretty little Saskatoon townhouse! But of course, the holiday season is also one of the busiest times of the year and that means that I can’t spend days and days perfecting my home’s holiday look. Luckily, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve! Here are my top three tips for easy holiday decorating!
1) Minimize Time and Mess with an Artificial Tree
For years, I was one of the biggest advocates of a real tree. The beauty, the scent and the classic look of a real Christmas tree was just unbeatable as far as I was concerned. But then one year I caved and decided to try an artificial tree. Not only was I able to set it up in less than five minutes, but it also came pre-lit with pretty white lights, saving on decorating time! And best of all, there was no watering, no sweeping or vacuuming fallen needles and no awkward disposal afterwards.
Of course, the one thing that I do miss about my real tree is the delicious outdoorsy smell. And that’s when I turn to Febreze! The limited edition Febreze Fresh Cut Pine Fabric Refresher and Air Effects are a perfect solution for making my house smell like there’s a real tree in the living room. And best of all, it eliminates unpleasant odours at the same time! To really wow visitors, try tucking a Febreze Small Spaces Fresh Cut Pine into the tree so the scent wafts out like it would with a real tree!
2) Small Touches Make a Big Difference
If you’re short on time but want to add some holiday cheer to your house, a few small additions to your regular décor can give the entire room a holiday feel! In the living room, exchange your everyday throw pillows for inexpensive festive ones boasting holiday colours or sayings. In the kitchen, a bright poinsettia or a group of festive Febreze Candles on the kitchen table adds instant holiday cheer. And a simple wreath on the front door is a quick and easy way to give the entire house a holiday feel before guests even walk into the house!
3) Don’t Forget the Bathroom
The bathroom isn’t necessarily a place that comes to mind when thinking about decorating for Christmas, but festive and welcoming additions to the small space are sure to be appreciated by visitors. Add a bright holiday hand towel to the rack, a sparkling ornament to the counter and a few mini toiletries in a small basket for overnight guests. And don’t forget to keep a bottle of Febreze Air Effects Fresh Twist Cranberry close at hand! It’s an easy way to instantly refresh the bathroom and leave it smelling clean, festive and inviting!
Febreze knows that amidst all the holiday fun and celebration, there can be some pretty stinky moments too. Think burned cookies, musty old chairs pulled out for extra seating or WAY too many cousins crowded in the same room! That’s why the company created a fun #12Stinks of Christmas music video featuring Doug E. Fresh and Doug the Pug! Check it out and see if any of the stinks are ones that you’ve encountered during the holidays!
I love the Febreze Holiday Collection because it has a variety of different scents to suit different personalities and also has so many versatile products. The Febreze Fabric Refresher will always be my personal favourite, but I love the Febreze Candles almost as much, especially for holiday entertaining! So, grab some products in your favourite scents, add a few inexpensive décor items and get ready to welcome guests into a home that looks and smells like a holiday haven…without hours of effort required! After all, even the most dedicated holiday host deserves time to relax and enjoy the festivities this Christmas!
lol LOVE that video! and you make a good point about the bathroom! I usually forget about decorating or making it smell nice but it is the main bathroom that everyone uses and you want that to be inviting as well
We use essential oils in an oil diffuser. Love cinnamon at Christmas!
The Febreze fresh cut pine sounds wonderful. I love the pine scent.
I love using candles and febreeze that are scented pine, or cinnamon, love bringing in the scents of Christmas to go along with the decorations!!
I keep the Febreze on hand. Use it daily.
I think adding the smell of pine to an artificial tree is a really good idea. I miss having a real tree with real candles and the aroma that’s in the room is Christmas for me.
I totally agree with using sprays and scented candles to create a festive atmosphere. I’m fond of a cinnamon smell at Christmas time.
we do have the Febreze air fresheners and love them.
I try to bring holiday spirit into every room!i wish we could try an artificial tree but maybe when they kids are older. Never knew there was pine febreeze, going to give that a try
