When my oldest son was just a toddler, he fell in love with the spunky and speed-driven Lightning McQueen when Disney’s Cars hit theatres. A few years later, his little brother learned about Lighting and his friends in Cars 2. (And he still says Mater is his favourite!)
Now, more than ten years after the first movie was released, Lightning McQueen is back to delight kids once again in Cars 3, now available on Blu-ray and DVD! Since I have a little one that will soon be watching cartoons with his big brothers, I can’t wait to see what my third child thinks of the movie we received to review. Here’s a brief synopsis:
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician with her own plan to win, inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet, and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!
Even though my boys have grown quite a bit since their first early days of watching the Cars movies, their fondness for Lighting McQueen and his friends hasn’t faded one bit. Both of them had a great time watching their favourite racer get back in the game one last time and set out on the road to victory!
Whether you have long-time fans of the Cars movies in the house or you want to introduce a little one to the characters for the first time, this movie is guaranteed to provide laughter and entertainment over the holiday season. Pick up your copy today and catch up on the antics of everyone’s favourite race car!
