I’ve always had a very free and easy approach to parenting for the most part. Kids learn by exploring and when you’re a kid, exploring is a dirty job. An old family friend used to say, “Your kids can be clean, or they can be happy.” I couldn’t agree more.

The SpotBot Pet is designed for the inevitable pet messes that occur when a family owns a dog or cat, but it is also a great solution for any stubborn spill or stain on a carpet. As soon as I saw the SpotBot Pet, I knew exactly where I would be testing it out. About a year ago, I had been reading to Zackary in his room and I had accidentally spilled the last of my cup of coffee on the floor at the foot of his bed. Because the spill was in such an awkward spot, I hadn’t been able to properly mop it up and because it wasn’t prominently visible it had been left untreated ever since. But I knew it was there and it irked me every time I caught a glimpse of it. There couldn’t be a better test for the SpotBot Pet than that stubborn, set-in stain.
The SpotBot Pet came fully assembled, so all I had to do was wrap the hose around the bottom of the device and wind up the power cord. The fill tank had convenient indicator lines both for the water and 2X Concentrated Pet Stain & Odor Advanced Formula used for regular stains and for the combination of cleaner, water and Oxy Gen2 oxygen booster that was recommended for stubborn stains. I really liked the fact that I could use an oxygen booster with the unit; it’s such a great eco-friendly way to increase cleaning power!
I filled the machine and carried it upstairs to tackle the stubborn stain. The thing that makes the SpotBot Pet so convenient is its WalkAway design. I simply place the round circular cleaning section over the stain, make my choice between the Surface Stain cycle and the Set-In Stain cycle and press the button. After starting the machine, the deep reach technology seals the area, penetrates the carpet and performs an intensive cleaning. The Surface Stain cycle takes only three minutes to run and the Set-In Stain cycle lasts a mere six minutes!
Initially, I prepared my cleaning solution with just the 2X Concentrated Pet Stain & Odor Advanced Formula and water to see what kind of results I would get. I decided to clean an old orange juice spill first and just to be safe, I used the Set-In Stain setting since the juice had been on the carpet for some time. I pressed the button to start the machine. It was a little noisy, but thanks to the great hands-free design, I was able to just leave the room and shut the door while the SpotBot Pet cleaned the stain. When I came back a few minutes later, the cycle was complete and the carpet was immaculate!

Since receiving the SpotBot Pet, I have used it to clean everything from chocolate to juice to my diaper-removing toddler’s “accidents” and it has made short work of the stains every time. The option of using the hose and deep cleaning brush lets me clean hard-to-reach places as well and makes the SpotBot Pet the perfect multifunctional cleaning tool for spot cleaning and tough stains. With an Automatic Smart System that takes the confusion out of stain cleaning and a cleaning solution that is specially formulated to permanently remove any trace of stubborn pet stains (or year-old coffee stains!), this handy little machine is a must for any family. With kids in the house, there are bound to be spills and messes. But with the SpotBot Pet, cleaning is as easy as pushing a button.

I visited Bissell and another product of theirs I’d like to try is one of the Sweep Up’s.
I just wish Bissell still made a product of theirs I used to own and love, I wish I remembered the name of it, but I don’t. It had a tank that rolled around like a large canister vacuum, It had hoses that attached to your sink faucets (it came with adaptors so you could use it on various sink faucets too). Off the sink faucet hose was another small tube that you placed into the cleaning solution bottle and it automatically sucked up the right amount of cleaning solution and mixed it with the hot water coming from your water tap. Then you squeezed the trigger on the wand that was attached to the water/solution hose. You sprayed your carpets and it had a brush attached at the bottom to work the solution into your carpet. Then you quit squeezing the trigger and the vacuum sucked up the now dirty from your carpet solution back into the rolling tank. It automatically would stop suctioning when the tank needed to be emptied. It left the carpet so super clean and nearly dry because the suction was amazing. They don’t make these any longer and I wish they did. The hose was so long that I only had to use two different sink faucets in my home to clean 1300 sq. ft. of carpet. The price was so super reasonable too. I had purchased it back when for $100 and it lasted me about 10 years, before another family member broke it, using it trying to shampoo their floorboard carpets in their super tiny car. They broke the brush on the bottom of the wand and caused the trigger mechanism to start leaking and cracked the heavy duty plastic tank so it leaked too. Worse yet, they never even asked me if they could use it. UGHHHHH!!!! I just wished Bissell would start making these again, they were awesome.
