Designer DIY Painting Techniques from 3M ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape with Edge-Lock

I’ve had the chance to check out some great painting tools recently and since our living room and our bedroom are both going through renovations in the next few months, I am very happy about that. But no matter what and where I’m painting, there is one product that is always by my side and that is ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape. As far as I am concerned, this tape is a must-have; it makes simple jobs easier and even advanced decorating is possible with a little help from ScotchBlue!

This gorgeous bedroom is a perfect example. While this room would be perfect for a teen girl, switching the paint colour would easily create a cool and striking look for a boy’s room as well. And I love the idea of using chalkboard paint to give kids a place to get creative!

If you’re redoing your living room, why not consider creating a statement on one of your walls with this gorgeous Diamond Pattern? It’s a lot easier than it looks and really adds a bold look to a room. Add rounded accessories to contrast the angular design on the wall and you’ll have a look worthy of Martha Stewart!

While our kitchen isn’t on our renovation list at the moment, I think this look may just be my favourite one. For those that love the look of stone tiles but don’t have the bottomless budget to make it happen, some clever painting techniques create a faux stone look at a fraction of the cost!

All of the techniques to create these looks can be found at www.scotchblue.com, but I firmly believe the look won’t work as well without 3M ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape with Edge-Lock. The tape uses advanced technology to produce super-sharp lines so that fancy techniques like these still leave crisp paint lines with no paint bleed. It’s the tape we used to create the dramatic chair rail stripe in our indoor porch and vertical stripes in one of the upstairs bedrooms, so I know it works. If you’re preparing a home renovation project, make sure you don’t forget to pick up some ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape with Edge-Lock first. When you see the great looks you can create, you’ll be glad you did!
