For the second year in a row Mommy Kat and Kids is participating in The Great Canadian Blog Bash! I love this chance to meet new Canadian bloggers and reconnect with some of my best bloggy friends right before Canada Day!
If you’re a newcomer to my site, welcome! My name is Kathryn and I am the energetic and cheerful owner, editor and head writer here at Mommy Kat and Kids.
I was born and raised in a small town on the Saskatchewan prairies and while life in a small town has its ups and downs, overall Lumsden is a pretty wonderful place to live.
Of course, the gorgeous scenery we have down here in the Qu’Appelle Valley doesn’t hurt either!
Did you know that Saskatchewan was once a part of the Northwest Territories? And it was originally settled when the Queen offered free land to anyone that would come and farm on the prairies.
People came from all over Europe, the United States and other parts of Canada to claim their “free land” and Saskatchewan has a very diverse ethnic background as a result.
Saskatchewan is also a province of viciously cold winters and absurdly hot summers and I sometimes think back on the first founders of my province with pride because to live here, a person would have to either be impossibly stubborn or a little bit crazy. And both of those probably describe me pretty well!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I would love to try the microfiber Dusting Mitt,
By population, Ontario is the largest province of Canada.
BC’s original capital was New Westminster.
SK is huge, lots of lakes, and very little population, most of it seniors apparently
totally free healthcare, we get more sun then any other province, tons of jobs ,just not enough people to fill them (so if anyone wants to move to my town there are at least 4 job opening just at my workplace LOL)
The Bay of Fundy (part of NS) has the world’s highest tides.
Nations Capital is in Ontario, EH!
Windsor, Ontario has the most diverse (ethnic) population in Canada
We’re the home of the Calgary Stampede where you can try deepfried mac’n cheese. Yech. But delish mini donuts
I just recently ordered my first ever supply of Norwex products… I am in LOVE with the microfibre cloths for cleaning. I love being able to clean in a chemical-free way, and in such an easy way! Just having the cloth and water even gets my boyfriend to wipe down the kitchen more often, just because the availability to do it is right in front of us, without having to get out the additional cleaning products!
I would love to get the mattress spray. And probably some travel cloths.
Ontario will be the site for the 100th Grey Cup, to be held in Toronto this year at The Rogers Centre (formerly, and still known to me as, The Sky Dome). We also have the CN Tower! Our country’s capital, Ottawa, is also found in our great province… and in Ottawa, the Beaver Tail treat was invented! YUM! http://www.beavertails.ca/
