Since my boys first discovered the children’s band Recess Monkey, the trio of teachers with a talent for getting kids grooving, they’ve loved listening and dancing along to the band’s CD Flying. Now Recess Monkey is back with a brand new CD and Deep Sea Diver looked like it would be just as much fun for my music-loving duo!
Deep Sea Diver has 15 energy-filled tracks with themes kids will love. What first attracted me to Recess Monkey is the way that the band plays around with different genres and styles to keep the musical experience interesting for a quickly distracted child. Deep Sea Diver kept to that same concept by creating songs with different musical styles that had an ocean theme to tie them together.
My boys especially loved The Seven Cs because it had a great nautical, sing-along style and fun subject matter about a crazy crew of pirate best friends. Zackary and Benjamin loved listening to the descriptions of the pirates and singing along to the course. Personally, I preferred The Deep End because the subject matter was great for both kids and adults and I loved the peppy, high-energy feel of the song.
Recess Monkey wants to help get your kids dancing so the band is very generously offering one lucky Mommy Kat and Kids reader their own copy of Deep Sea Diver! To enter to win, just leave a blog comment about your favourite ocean creature.
There’s nothing better than finding feel-good music for kids that parents can enjoy as well and Recess Monkey creates songs that are sure to satisfy that requirement. Check out the new CD for yourself and get ready to rock out with Deep Sea Diver!
