Last month, Hollywood’s most well-known celebrity moms were treated to a special Mother’s Day gift basket from LA-based marketing firm Distinctive Assets. The baskets were packed with exclusive goodies for Mom and Baby including products from Earth’s Best Organic, Credible Cravings, Pact, CCILU and many others. Moms-to-be Penelope Cruz and Jessica Simpson and new moms Megan Fox and Claire Danes are just a few of the 25 Hollywood moms that enjoyed a stunning assortment of exclusive mom and baby treats.
I have to admit, as I glanced through the items in the gift basket, that since I have older children now there weren’t too many products in this package that caught my eye. But I did see one gift that almost any mom could appreciate: a decadent chocolate gift basket from Chubby Chipmunk! So when I got the chance to review this tasty basket of treats, I was delighted.
Presentation is a huge part of the appeal with an item like this and the Chubby Chipmunk package was certainly designed to “wow.” Featuring a wicker baby bassinet basket filled with moulded chocolates nestled atop a box of hand-dipped truffles, it was as beautiful as it was decadent.
Over the next few days, the boys and I devoured the rich and creamy chocolates in the adorable baby carriage and while they were certainly stunning to look at, I have to admit that the taste wasn’t all that different than any other moulded chocolate I’ve tried. But that all changed when I took out the first truffle and bit into it.
These truffles are bar-none the best ones I have ever eaten, and I am a huge fan of the treat so I have eaten quite a few. They are gorgeous to look at, but the creamy, dreamy filling, huge size and variety of mouth-watering flavours are what really set them apart. My personal favourite was the Deadwood Toffee truffle. With delicious homemade toffee bits and a white chocolate toffee-flavoured centre, it was an absolutely sinful experience.

Deadwood truffle that you wrote about makes my mouth water just reading……sounds scrumptious but after previewing their selection the one I’d MOST be interested in is the one made after my all time favorite dessert…..I’d most like to try the creme brûlée truffle.
