Breakfast has always been my favourite meal of the day. From simple cereal to a large breakfast buffet, it’s always such satisfying food and I love finding new and fun ways of making breakfast exciting. Now while I mostly prefer home cooked meals, I have to admit that my boys and I love indulging in the occasional fast food breakfast too. Those yummy breakfast sandwiches are just such a treat!
Now, Hamilton Beach has released a new appliance that will let anyone enjoy customized breakfast sandwiches that are quicker, cheaper and healthier than anything at a fast food restaurant. The new Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker prepares hot and fresh breakfast sandwiches in just five minutes and I was so excited when I received one of the new Breakfast Sandwich Makers to test out.
I have to admit, I am not a fan of niche small appliances for the most part. I have a very small kitchen and the available space is just too limited for me to fit in all the latest gadgets for home cookery. So as much as I wanted to whip up my own breakfast sandwich, I was hesitant about adding another appliance to my kitchen. I shouldn’t have worried. The Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker is quite possibly the most space-friendly small appliance I’ve ever owned. I actually keep it on a corner of the kitchen table!
The fun thing about this sandwich maker is that it allows you to make a breakfast sandwich just the way you want. Whether you’ve always longed to make a vegetarian delicacy with spinach and tomatoes or you crave an ooey, gooey croissandwich with two kinds of cheese, the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker can make your breakfast sandwich dreams come true. I decided to stick to classics for our first attempt by piling bacon, eggs and cheese on English muffins.
The device needed to heat up for a few minutes and also required a quick misting of non-stick cooking spray. Then we were ready to get cooking. The bottom portion of the device holds one half of the English muffin and the fillings. I added a slice of cheese and a slice of back bacon at this point. Then the centre of the device flipped down so that I could crack a raw egg into the cooker and place the second half of the English muffin on top. After that, I just closed the lid and waited.
The one thing that I would have loved on the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker is a little buzzer or timer to tell me when the sandwich was ready. Instead, I trusted my sense of smell. When I noticed the tantalizing aroma of melted cheese and toasted bread, I just lifted the top of the cooker to check the egg and make sure it looked cooked. Then came the fun part! By sliding the centre disc out of the cooker, the top and bottom halves of the sandwich assembled themselves into one tasty breakfast treat!
Do you have a family that loves breakfast sandwiches as much as mine does? Hamilton Beach is here for you! The company is very generously offering one lucky Mommy Kat and Kids reader their own Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker, a $30 value! To enter to win, just leave a blog comment about what type of breakfast sandwich you would make in this cooker!
My boys love being able to have fresh, hot and delicious breakfast sandwiches in the morning and I have to admit, I do too. I can’t wait to really get creative with the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker and whip up sausage and egg sandwiches on pancakes, frittata sandwiches on mini bagels and any other culinary creation I can dream up. Check out this handy little appliance for yourself and enjoy a hot, delicious and portable breakfast in just minutes every morning!
