The older my boys get, the more it seems we spend our days rushing from one place to another without any time to just relax together and enjoy a little downtime. But that time to unwind is so important; it helps us catch up on one another’s lives and enjoy the quiet peacefulness of being together. That’s why I have recently started ensuring that I set aside one weekday evening and one weekend afternoon for my boys and I to just spend time together watching a movie, playing a board game or reading a book.
One of our very favourite activities recently has been playing board games together. It’s just been recently that Benjamin understand some of the basic concepts needed to play a basic game with us and now that he does, we’ve been finding all kinds of great games that we can play together. My poor youngest son still does have a tendency to pout a bit when he doesn’t win, but for the most part, playing a game together is something we always find relaxing and enjoyable.
Of course, playing with toys is something both my boys find just as appealing and since they’re both so imaginative, they are always making up great stories with their toys. I love joining in and playing along too since it’s not just a chance to spend time together, but also a chance to get a glimpse into their thoughts. Benjamin’s Thomas & Friends Trackmaster Risky Rails Bridge Drop set is always a top choice for playtime and I love that it involves different types of play to keep my boys interested. From building the track to acting out adventures with the trains, it’s a set that always provides plenty of relaxing entertainment.
Whether your favourite downtime activities involve a great television show or a little playtime with the kids, Thomas & Friends has some new options available that kids and adults will both love. The Thomas & Friends: King of the Railway DVD lets kids and adults come along with Thomas on a legendary movie adventure. There are mysteries to solve and epic adventures in store for Thomas and the other trains in this fun-filled DVD, which is available in both English and French.
And if your child prefers toys to television, Fisher-Price has some fun new playsets that Thomas & Friends fans will adore. The new Thomas & Friends Trackmaster Castle Quest set was inspired by the new King of the Railway DVD and features a motorized train and a crane to create plenty of opportunities for engaged play. And the Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle Playset features a fun racing track that can be folded up for fun on the go. Kids will love racing Thomas and Troublesome Truck down the track to knock down the drawbridge for the arriving knights!
There are so many ways to relax and enjoy some quiet time with your kids and the new Thomas & Friends products are a great addition to any family’s collection of movies, activities and toys perfect for family bonding. Check out the new products for yourself and get caught up in the magic and excitement happening on the Island of Sodor with Thomas & Friends!

My littlest loves Thomas and my eldest used to. :) These definitely would make good Christmas gifts.
I know a couple little boys that just love Thomas, these would make great Christmas gifts.
I have 2 girls and they haven’t found a love for trains yet, but I just got a new nephew so somebody’s getting some Thomas swag.
My son is 5 and I agree whole heartedly that Thomas is a fantastic way to hang out and connect with him! We just saw the most recently released movie on DVD — he loved it!
My son is obsessed with Thomas. I am welcoming their new additions to the playset line up.
Thomas and friends are always a hit with so many children. Great info here and lots of holiday gift ideas swirling around in my head. I have littles who would be happy recipients.
