Christmas is a time to celebrate, a time to make memories with loved ones and a time to think of others. This year, Kellogg’s Rice Krispies is giving families a way to do all three things with its new Treats for Toys program and I cannot wait to be a part of it! The concept is simple. Use the classic Rice Krispies Squares recipe and fun decorations to make a festive and edible toy. Choose from five fun Rice Krispies recipes on the website or get inventive and create your own masterpiece! Then upload a picture to ricekrispies.ca and Kellogg’s Canada will donate $20 to the Salvation Army to help provide toys to children in need at Christmas!

I received a special Rice Krispies Treat Kit to help me get started with my creations. IN the coming weeks, I’ll be featuring some treats that the boys and I make using the festive recipes from ricekrispies.ca and some treats that we create all on our own. But as much fun as making the treats will be, I’m even more excited to know that creating these edible toys will help give less fortunate children a magical Christmas!

From robots to princesses and race cars to teddy bears, there is no limit to what you can create with Rice Krispies squares and a little imagination, and every treat you make will give a Merry Christmas to a child in need. Now that’s a great way to celebrate the holidays!

  1. What a lovely way to raise money for toys and have fun at the same time! We love to make Rice Krispie treats for several reasons, primarily because the kids can get involved and they fit with our food allergies we avoid. I think we will have to come up with some new creations just for this!

    Thanks Kat :-)

  2. I have such a weakness for Rice Crispies cereal and those treats. I love how they are incorporating creativity and the imagination and encouraging their customers to share and then giving a toy to a child. Great program!
