Clean Your Carpet the Right Way

I love the look of carpet in a room, but I don’t love how dirty it gets and how hard it can sometimes be to care for, especially if you don’t have a quality vacuum cleaner.

Carpet adds warmth and comfort to virtually any room, but proper care is extremely important to ensure the lifespan and durability of this popular flooring style.

Below are a few recommended cleaning tips to ensure your carpet looks beautiful for years to come:

  • Vacuuming is key to carpet cleaning! Dirt and grit can get embedded in your carpet, which can wreak havoc on the color and carpet fibers. Make sure to vacuum often, especially heavy traffic area. It’s recommended to vacuum your carpet at least once per week, twice per week in heavier traffic areas.
  • Shampooing is recommended a few times per year to help lift deep soil and grit. Seeking out a professional carpet cleaner is one option, but you can do it yourself as well. If you choose to shampoo your own carpet, be sure to look for manufacturer-recommended carpet cleaning products
  • Redistributing furniture often can lengthen your carpets life.
  • It’s important to remember that routine maintenance of your carpet with the right carpet cleaning products can help you maintain your warranty coverage.

If you currently have carpet in your home, or are getting carpet, make sure to take proper care of your carpet to ensure its lifespan.

With a little care, carpet can be a great flooring choice that is warm, inviting and will last for years!

  1. I have mostly wood floor and tile in my house but carpeting is so nice in those places or rooms where you want a little extra comfort or style.

  2. We get our carpet cleaned professionally once a year. Thanks for the tips and I would never try to clean my own carpet as it is wool.

  3. thank you for the tips!! i have 2 cats and a 14 month old girl. so fur gets in the carpet and any treats my daughter likes to leave behind. definitely need to remember that i need to shampoo the carpets as well a couple times a year

  5. Great tips! My son just replaced carpet in his home he just recently purchased which is a pretty old place and it looks great. With 5 kids, harder to maintain but if he keeps up with it, will work great and last for a long time
