A few weeks ago, I reviewed the brand new Skintimate Signature Scents Moisturizing Shave Gel in Mandarin Burst. My favourite features were the rich lather and the energizing citrus scent, but Skintimate wanted to know what you thought of its new shave gel too. Now the reviews are in and readers had a lot to say about this new shave gel!
One of the biggest highlights of the shave gel, as might be expected, was its aroma, and readers couldn’t say enough about it:
The aroma took me back to a warm summer day – Creamsicle! It was delightful. The foam felt silky as I shaved my underarms, legs and bikini area. I found I didn’t have ingrown hairs afterwards either. My legs were smooth and there was no after shave burn, as there is sometimes with the soap route. Over all I would say that this new scent was invigorating, the gel was hydrating and my skin appreciated the smooth after shave.

I was surprised by the fresh scent. It smells delicious. A nice light citrus aroma. I quickly found out that a little goes a long way. You don’t need much of the gel to lather up your leg.After shaving, my legs felt nice and smooth and stayed smooth and moisturized all day.

As someone who has always enjoyed citrus scents, this product was just the ray of sunshine I needed on the gloomy day that I first tried it. After my kids had left school for the day, I finally had the opportunity to test it out. As someone who usually never uses shave gel, I was pleasantly surprised at how moisturizing it was. The gel made shaving a breeze and fun to boot, which is a miracle for me as shaving is always a dreaded chore. The scent was very nice, but not overpowering which is great as strong perfumes tend to set off my migraines. It left a nice light scent on my skin afterwards as well.

This Mandarin Burst scent is fruity and sweet, the texture and ease of use is great, and the shave was smooth. Even hours later my skin felt soft to the touch- just ask my husband! I woke up on day two right on schedule, except I realized I didn’t need to shave again- so convenient! I was back at it again on day three, skin still quite smooth, but actually wanting to shave again- why not keep a good thing going?! I know it is ‘just’ shave gel, but finding a few moments to use a great product that smells wonderful, saves me time, leaves me feeling soft and sexy, and makes my hubby smile a little wider, how can I go wrong? I just hope I don’t run out…

I’ve never used a shave gel before as I’ve only relied upon soap and a razor to do the job. This product goes on as a gel and quickly lathers up to foam. It provides an ample amount with just one squirt. I found I had a good, even shave, with no nicks. My legs were smooth.

The gel was easy to apply, foamed and went on smoothly and felt creamy thick and silky. I really liked that there are the 6 moisturizers which include Vitamin E and Olive Butter, I found that after my shave my legs felt luxuriously smooth and silky, no red bumps or irritation as I have very sensitive skin, a very close shave. I had no need to apply any extra lotion after shaving as I usually do. My legs stayed feeling smooth and silky with a lingering citrusy scent! I would highly recommend it!

There are usually at least one or two negative comments when a group of people review a new product, but other than a few minor design issues (the cap being hard to put back on and the bottom of the can getting rusty in the wet shower over time), women really had nothing but praise for this newest shave gel from Skintimate. From the rich, long-lasting foam to the sweet yet not overpowering scent, this shave gel was an undisputed hit. And some readers even had helpful advice for using it!
You only need very little gel (loonie size) to use for each leg. When I work it into a lather, I can then smell the lemon and lime. I love citrus smells and it’s not overpowering. It covers my legs with a thin coat which is great due to the razor getting as close to my skin as possible. It was an easy shave and my legs are silky smooth. My only suggestion is to turn the shower water off because it will easily wash the cream off.
