Show Your Cat Some Love with Tips from Arm & Hammer

I was never a cat person until my current pet. In fact, I had no interest in pets whatsoever. But my beloved Siamese cross Racer changed all that within a few weeks of joining our household. Her quirky personality, independence and cuddly nature won my heart and I’ve been a cat person ever since.

As a result, I fully admit that I spoil her a bit. She gets the highest quality cat food I can find, she drinks bottled water instead of tap water and she gets fun new treats and toys almost as often as my boys do. It’s all just part of the way that I show my cat love. Arm & Hammer understands my affection, and the company has some great tips for showing your cat a little extra love too:

  • Love your cat with attention – life is busy these days, and bonding can take many forms, but nothing says “love” like spending time with them.
  • You may not realize it, but litter boxes play a big role in your cat’s happiness and comfort level. Make sure that you have at least one litter box per cat, preferably uncovered and that they are easily accessible. To keep your cat happy, clean the box often and use an odour neutralizing product like Arm & Hammer™ Clump and Seal™ Complete Odour Sealing Clumping Litter. This revolutionary new cat Litter first seals, and then destroys odours for a 7- day odour free home, guaranteed! Just remember to remove clumps & solid waste daily to keep the rest of the litter box fresh.
  • Play – Sometimes it can seem like all they do is sleep, but cats get bored too. Give your cat something to do by making sure their environment is stimulating and engaging them in active play with toys. Sometimes, love can be found on the end of a string attached to a stick.
  • Treats – once considered the sole domain of canines, cats love a tasty nibble. Some pet parents even bake their own – extra love points if they are heart-shaped! Just make sure not to overindulge your kitty’s appetite.

I also received the new Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal Complete Odour Sealing Clumping Litter to test out myself and since dealing with the cat litter is obviously my least-favourite job when it comes to pet ownership, I was more than willing to see how it compared to the variety I was currently using.

This litter features exclusive technology that seals and destroys odours and I was absolutely amazed by how well it worked. While the litter promises a seven-day odour-free home, I actually have always noticed the worst smell right after Racer uses her litter box. This litter eliminated the smell almost immediately and the litter stayed odour-free for days. It was so nice not having to deal with the smell anymore!

Cleaning cat litter is a pain, but it’s a small price to pay for all the joy and amusement that Racer adds to my life. And having a variety of litter that seals away the unpleasant smell makes the job all the easier so that I can spend less time with the chore of keeping the litter box smelling fresh and more time playing with my pet. Now that’s a good deal for both of us!

At the end of the day, spending time with your pets is the best way to show them you love them. For more ideas on how you can give your pet some TLC, check out this blog post from Bivvy.

Our 20 year old female cat passed away last year and we were devastated, and still are even today. We also had a 2 year old female at that time and she missed the other one so much too. Our younger one is named Ziva and is 3 now. She is the strangest cat I have ever seen. Our older cat went outside and was the smartest cat I had ever seen. Ziva hisses at everyone because our older cat, Curious, hissed at her constantly when we first brought Ziva home. Ziva hisses at other people and animals. She tears up paper and puts it in her litter box. She also pulls in grocery bags, and anything else, including some of her toys, into her litter box. She is so cute. She used to touch Curious on her butt whenever she could. Curious came to tolerate Ziva, but never would let her cuddle with her. We still haven’t gotten a companion for Ziva, but we are thinking about it. Thanks!

  2. They always seem to amaze me with their antics! If it’s one thing it’s the other, from tearing up the garbage to knocking over my plants. Always an adventure around my house!

  3. I have three cats, all one year apart in age. Bill is our oldest, he’s a big guy with the best personality – he loooves people, and his purr is the loudest I’ve ever heard in a cat. Ned is our middle boy, he has the softest fur I’ve ever felt, but he’s very shy and hides from most people, though he loves my husband and I. Emma is my youngest, and she’s a sweetheart. She’s obsessed with me – she follows me around the house and always wants to be sitting on my lap. Thanks for the great giveaway!
