Show Your Cat Some Love with Tips from Arm & Hammer

I was never a cat person until my current pet. In fact, I had no interest in pets whatsoever. But my beloved Siamese cross Racer changed all that within a few weeks of joining our household. Her quirky personality, independence and cuddly nature won my heart and I’ve been a cat person ever since.

As a result, I fully admit that I spoil her a bit. She gets the highest quality cat food I can find, she drinks bottled water instead of tap water and she gets fun new treats and toys almost as often as my boys do. It’s all just part of the way that I show my cat love. Arm & Hammer understands my affection, and the company has some great tips for showing your cat a little extra love too:

  • Love your cat with attention – life is busy these days, and bonding can take many forms, but nothing says “love” like spending time with them.
  • You may not realize it, but litter boxes play a big role in your cat’s happiness and comfort level. Make sure that you have at least one litter box per cat, preferably uncovered and that they are easily accessible. To keep your cat happy, clean the box often and use an odour neutralizing product like Arm & Hammer™ Clump and Seal™ Complete Odour Sealing Clumping Litter. This revolutionary new cat Litter first seals, and then destroys odours for a 7- day odour free home, guaranteed! Just remember to remove clumps & solid waste daily to keep the rest of the litter box fresh.
  • Play – Sometimes it can seem like all they do is sleep, but cats get bored too. Give your cat something to do by making sure their environment is stimulating and engaging them in active play with toys. Sometimes, love can be found on the end of a string attached to a stick.
  • Treats – once considered the sole domain of canines, cats love a tasty nibble. Some pet parents even bake their own – extra love points if they are heart-shaped! Just make sure not to overindulge your kitty’s appetite.

I also received the new Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal Complete Odour Sealing Clumping Litter to test out myself and since dealing with the cat litter is obviously my least-favourite job when it comes to pet ownership, I was more than willing to see how it compared to the variety I was currently using.

This litter features exclusive technology that seals and destroys odours and I was absolutely amazed by how well it worked. While the litter promises a seven-day odour-free home, I actually have always noticed the worst smell right after Racer uses her litter box. This litter eliminated the smell almost immediately and the litter stayed odour-free for days. It was so nice not having to deal with the smell anymore!

Cleaning cat litter is a pain, but it’s a small price to pay for all the joy and amusement that Racer adds to my life. And having a variety of litter that seals away the unpleasant smell makes the job all the easier so that I can spend less time with the chore of keeping the litter box smelling fresh and more time playing with my pet. Now that’s a good deal for both of us!

At the end of the day, spending time with your pets is the best way to show them you love them. For more ideas on how you can give your pet some TLC, check out this blog post from Bivvy.

  1. We have two cats named Shadow and Tiger. Tiger loves to sleep on my pillow in my face. I’m always inhaling cat hair while sleeping! Shadow is a fruitloop!

  2. My cat Bree is the softest cat ever. she will not eat tuna, chicken, any kind of meat, milk, cheese, but she will eat popcorn, Doritos and anything made with a cat on it lol, and now that we have puppies she eats their food:)

  3. My cat is pretty quiet. Pippi usually only meows when she wakes up and can’t find me. She loves hanging out with the daycare kids and they love to give her treats in the morning.

  4. He used to play fetch as a kitten, but now hes fat and lazy…and getting older. He moves his head around and makes funny noises when you scratch his back.

  5. My Elmo whom I adopted 9 years ago from the SPCA in Saint John, is the sweetest thing ever! She follows me around the house all day, waiting until our bedtime. Very sweet personality!

  6. One of my cats loves bananas! He will actually use his paw to grab my hand and pull it to his mouth. It drives me crazy, but it’s pretty funny.

  7. Mu Kitty Dusty will be a year old this month! We have had him six months and love him dearly-he is my sweet baby, greets me at the door after along day at work, he brings me great joy and unconditional love

  8. My SmileyCat is 18 years old and the most loving cat I have ever had ! We ” adopted ” her from a neighbour when they moved and were about to get rid of her because they couldn’t have three cats at their new place. Our vet determined that she had been kicked — more than a few times– and had some nerve damage. She was also half starved. She has come a long way in the 6 years we have had her and I am so glad that we could give her some happiness in her old age.
