Halloween is just a few days away and since kids will soon be indulging in all kinds of sweet treats, I thought I’d create a few healthy Halloween snacks for my little monsters this year. Planning a Halloween party menu without overindulging on sweets doesn’t have to mean skimping on fun and these four simple recipes are proof of that!
Halloween Pumpkin Oranges
Such a fun and easy treat! Simply peel mandarin oranges and insert a small slice of celery into the top to create instant delicious mini pumpkins that kids will love to gobble up!
Phantom Banana Snacks
Cut bananas in half and use raisins to create eyes and a mouth. For icy-cold fun, insert sticks into the bottom of the bananas and freeze until firm before serving.
Spooky Monster Smiles
Cut an apple into slices and spread each slice with Kraft Smooth Peanut Butter or your favourite nut-free spread. Place a row of Kraft Jet-Puffed Miniature Marshmallows in a row on one apple slice and top with a second slice to create a spooky smile.
Ghostly Pudding Milk Shakes
Use a permanent marker to draw a ghostly face on the outside of a clear plastic drinking cup. Mix three cups of milk and one package of Jell-O Vanilla Instant Pudding together until combined. Pour into cups and top with a dollop of Cool Whip for instant ghostly fun.
The Kraft Canada website has tons of other fabulous kids Halloween menu ideas for your little ghouls and goblins, from hearty and spooky main courses to sweet treats and snacks. I’ll definitely be making the simple and fun Skeleton and Brain Dip for my next Halloween party! Check out the recipes and find a few favourites that will help make your Halloween extra special this year.
But don’t forget to also give one or two of these healthy Halloween snacks a try for your next Halloween get-together!
