It’s no secret that I love to shop online. In fact, in just a few short years I’ve gone from being a hesitant newbie to a self-proclaimed online shopping pro. But as much as I love shopping online, I love saving even more! I learned shortly after making my first few Internet purchases that I should never just settle for paying the listed price. And one of my favourite discoveries for saving money while shopping online was RetailMeNot.ca.
This money-saving website is always my first stop when shopping online, and with good reason. With exclusive coupon codes, special deals and sale information for tons of Canada’s top retailers, it almost guarantees big savings on the purchases I’m planning to make. So when I was recently given a $250 Visa gift card with the challenge of showing how much I could save using RetailMeNot.ca, I was in my element.
My boys and I both needed some new clothes for spring, so I decided to make that the focus of my shopping spree. My goal was to find $250 of clothing and then see how much RetailMeNot.ca could save me on the purchase. I headed to the website and as soon as I saw a listing for a spring sale at the Gap website with savings of up to 60% off regular prices, I headed over to start checking out the deals.
After an hour or so of browsing, I had selected a new pair of jeans and a cute v-neck sweater for myself, the perfect outfit for a cool spring day. I’d also found a pair of jeans and a sweater for Zackary, who seems to be constantly ripping his pants lately. And since I do like my boys to look fashionable, my personal favourite find was a gorgeous boys’ spring peacoat! With this jacket, Zackary will be looking fabulous at any weddings or special events we attend this year!
The total regular value of the items I had chosen actually exceeded my budget with a price of $257.75 before taxes. Thanks to the spring sale I learned about at RetailMeNot.ca, my price was just $127.95. But I wasn’t done saving yet! I headed back to the website to search for any valid coupon codes I might be able to use to save even more. And the search paid off big time when I discovered a 35% off online only coupon code for Gap purchases that stacked on top of the sale savings! My final price for the items I had chosen was just $83.17 before tax!
RetailMeNot.ca wants to let you see for yourself how much you can save using its website, so the company is very generously offering one lucky Mommy Kat and Kids reader a $100 Visa gift card for their own online shopping spree! To enter to win, just leave a blog comment about your favourite place to shop online.
As usual, RetailMeNot.ca had ensured that my boys and I could sport some stylish new clothes without spending a fortune. Spending just $83.17 for clothes with a value of $257.75 means that I saved $174.58 in total, a whopping 68% off the regular price. What’s not to love about that? Whether you’re an experienced online shopper or new to the world of Internet retail, make sure that RetailMeNot.ca is a part of your shopping experience. When you see how much you can save, you’ll never shop any other way!

I like to shop at amazon.
I love shopping on ebay and Walmart
Amazon.ca though there are also items in Amazon.com that I’d like to get since they’re not in Canada. These items are mostly available online vs in retail stores, so, it’s a good way to cut to the chase.
I love Chapters Indigo because it is much less work then going in store and looking around. Especially when I mostly know what I want.
Ebay is my fave!
I like shopping on Best Buy.
