Considering I’m in my mid-thirties, I’m pretty pleased with my looks so far. While I have a few more wrinkles than I did in my twenties, my skin is still quite smooth and has fairly even tone. But I know that I need to be proactive if I want to keep my skin looking great in the coming years, and that’s why I was so excited when I got the chance to review the Skin Perfecter by Le Mieux.
This device is a 4-in-1 multitasking hero that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and infuses using ultrasonic vibrations. It sounded similar to a home microdermabrasion device at first, but when it arrived I realized that it was something quite different. I charged up the sleek handheld unit and got ready to test it out!
I have to say that with any new skincare device, the potential sensation it might create during use is at the top of my mind. I couldn’t help but be a little hesitant as I first touched my skin with the metal end of the Skin Perfecter since I wasn’t sure how it was going to feel. There was just a slight vibration as the device moved over my face and I have to admit that it was hard to believe the Skin Perfecter was doing anything.
When the device is used to deep cleanse, exfoliate and extract, the tip of the Skin Perfecter is moved over a clean, wet face. I realized after a few minutes that I could occasionally see steam rising up from the end of the device. Clearly the ultrasonic waves were having an impact after all!
After using the device on my entire face, I applied my favourite Olay Total Effects moisturizer, turned the device to the high pulse setting and used it once more, this time laying the flat end of the Skin Perfecter flat against my face. This setting infuses serums and moisturizers into the skin for more effective results. The entire process took just a few minutes and only needs to be done three times a week for the best results.
After finishing, I studied my face to see if a single treatment produced a noticeable difference. What I noticed immediately is that I had two new red spots I hadn’t noticed prior. One was on my nose and the other was just above my eye. Since I suffer from hormonal breakouts, I’m always looking for ways to minimize my acne and I realized that the Skin Perfecter would likely do just that with regular use. It was clearly drawing out the oil and dirt trapped in my pores after just a single use. After a few weeks, I was sure my breakouts would minimize.
I can’t say that I noticed a difference in the light wrinkles on my forehead and around my eyes at first, but after a few weeks of use, I saw a difference in my forehead especially. I also noticed that my skin tone was more even and, as predicted, my acne breakouts were less frequent. Since changes to the face take place over time, taking a picture is a great way to better judge results with any facial product, and I saw noticeable differences when I compared earlier pictures to those taken after a few weeks of use.
