Serve Up a Simple and Spooky Mini Mummy Pizza Recipe this Halloween

I make no secret about how much I love Halloween. Every year is a new chance to create some fun themed treats, put out amazing decorations and enjoy all things spooky.

But one thing I’ve always believed is that Halloween fun at home doesn’t have to mean sugar overload. After all, kids will have enough of that when they get back from trick-or-treating! From healthy Halloween snacks to spooky main courses, serving low-sugar alternatives to that bowl of candy is just as much fun!

This year, I decided to create a simple and nutritious Halloween lunch. And Kraft Canada gave me my inspiration with its Mummy Face Pizza mini pizza recipe. I made a few minor substitutions and in less than ten minutes, had a plate of tasty and healthy Halloween Mummy mini pizzas to serve to my boys!

While the bagel used in the original mini pizza recipe worked well for creating the face shape since it had a naturally formed mouth from the hole in the middle, I preferred the lighter choice of whole wheat mini pita breads for this recipe.

The pitas made the dish a less filling one for my boys’ smaller appetites and also make this a perfect appetizer for a Halloween party. I used the suggested olives for the mummy’s eyes but for meat lovers, substituting slices of pepperoni stick would work well too!

In addition to lots of great food ideas, you’ll find party-planning tips, pumpkin carving stencils, party games and everything else you need to make your Halloween gathering spook-tacular!

Then grab your ingredients, whip up some fun snacks and get ready for a ghoulish good time! From devilish dips to terrifying treats, Kraft Canada has it all! Halloween comes but once a year, and when creating themed food for the big day is this fun and easy, why not go all out?

Those are super cute and a great quick and easy meal for before trick or treating. Only one of my kids likes olives though, and my husband, so they would love them but the rest of the family not so much.
