This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Rubbermaid Brilliance. All opinions are 100% mine.
With two boys in school and a husband that’s sometimes away from home for days at a time, I pack a lot of food to go in the average week. So, I’ve had my fair share of experience with food storage containers. And to be honest, I really felt like they were all pretty much the same.
Then I was challenged to see just how different food storage can be by testing out Rubbermaid Brilliance containers. With a clear, glass-like look, they definitely appealed to my sense of aesthetics. But could they really combine the best features of both glass and plastic into one convenient container? I was excited to see for myself!
The highlight of Rubbermaid Brilliance containers is their leak-proof design. They’re guaranteed to be 100% leak-proof no matter what I pack inside. Since my husband often takes soups and casseroles to work, having a leak-proof container is important. But since he also carries clothes, books and other important items in his work bag, he needed to know for sure that Rubbermaid Brilliance would live up to its claims.
I tested out the containers in a few different ways. I filled one with water and tipped it upside down. Not a drop escaped. I left it sitting on its side on the table for an hour or so. Still no leaks. I even put it in a bag and shook it around to simulate taking it on the road. To my delight, the Rubbermaid Brilliance container was indeed 100% leak-proof!
But while that’s my favourite feature of the containers, there’s plenty more about them to make them a top choice for busy families like mine. The containers also feature built-in venting so that we can reheat the contents without microwave splatters. I just open the side latches before microwaving and the built-in venting holes let steam escape while the food warms.
The containers are also freezer and dishwasher safe, and the brilliant clear look doesn’t stain, even when used for acidic foods like tomato soup. Since I’ve had to throw out many old containers due to staining, that was another huge plus for me.
To top it all off, the containers are modular and stackable, so they fit neatly into my storage container drawer and take up less space in the fridge. The set of Rubbermaid Brilliance containers that I bought had four containers of different sizes. But after seeing how little space they take to store, I’ll be making it a mission to replace all our existing containers with Rubbermaid Brilliance instead!
Our Rubbermaid Brilliance containers have already come in handy for my husband’s work food, and for storing my own homemade salad dressings and marinades when making supper. Find them at Walmart, Real Canadian Superstore, London Drugs and select other retailers, and see for yourself how these leak-proof containers are simply the best choice for your family!
These look great, will have to put them on my Christmas wish list! I could use some new ones.
That these containers are also freezer and dishwasher safe, and don’t stain is absolutely brilliant. I have so many that my son used for his lunches when he went to work that are now stained, mainly because of a sauce containing tomatoes, it’s nasty. So this alone makes these worth investing in.
These are great, hubby never eats the leftovers because he says he can’t see what’s in the containers even if he packed them
I have been looking for some new containers. I think these are the ones.
Are they easy for a child to open? My 5-year-old has trouble with most containers.
we are in the market for new containers so I need to check these out.
I would love to use these containers. There is nothing worse than a spill in the fridge.
they look great I use leaky dollar store ones
I need these containers badly! My current containers never seal and leak all the time.
These sounds like the perfect food container. I will have to try them!
