Discover 4 Must-Visit Moose Jaw Attractions and Focus on the City with Ford

October 8, 2015 by Kathryn 22 Comments

Saskatchewan is definitely not a heavily promoted province when it comes to tourism, but having lived here my entire life, I know exactly how many great attractions it has to offer. And Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, is the perfect example of that. From museums to the mineral pool, it’s packed with attractions that are fun for the whole family. And recently I had the chance to explore a few of my favourites in a gorgeous 2015 Ford Focus during the Ford Canada Focus on My City event! If you’re in the Moose Jaw area, these are four attractions you’ll want to check out!

Moose Jaw Western Development Museum

This museum was the first stop on our day of exploring Moose Jaw, and it’s a must-visit in the city. With exhibits that take families on a walk through the history of transportation, it’s a fascinating look into how far we’ve come in our journey by road, rail and air. Kids will love the antique vehicles and adults will appreciate learning more about the development of various vehicles and transportation methods.

The Saskatchewan prairies often get overlooked as a vacation destination, and even though I’ve lived in Saskatchewan my entire life, I’m guilty of sometimes forgetting just how much our capital city of Regina has to offer. Luckily for me, I recently had the chance to rediscover the beauty of Regina when InterContinental Hotels Group offered me the chance to enjoy a staycation getaway. If you’re considering a trip to Regina in the future, these four family-friendly attractions are ones you should check out.

Prepare to Be Dazzled at the Cirque du Soleil Dralion Performance Coming to Regina December 10

December 2, 2014 by Kathryn 62 Comments

There’s simply nothing better than a Cirque du Soleil performance and in just a few days, the hit show Dralion is coming to Regina! One of the show’s jugglers, Vladimir Pestov, was recently at Queen Victoria Estates seniors’ home to share a sneak peek of some of the dazzling acts that can be expected.

The juggling was incredible, the costumes were gorgeous and the teaser performance definitely had me excited for the upcoming show. And since Dralion, which has performed in more than 150 cities, is soon going to be retired, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience this stunning performance.

TELUS Inspires Today’s Youth Through We Day and the We365 App

November 20, 2014 by Kathryn 49 Comments

For the last three years I’ve had the privilege of attending We Day Saskatchewan and I always come out of the event impressed by the passion of today’s youth and inspired to make a bigger difference in the world myself. Teaching my boys about social responsibility and supporting the causes they believe in is a big part of that and this year I decided that my eight-year-old son Zackary was finally old enough to attend We Day with me.

TELUS has been a proud sponsor of We Day each time I attended and this year was no exception. I’ve been a TELUS customer for a long time and while that’s partially because the company offers such amazing smartphone plans, it’s also because of its passion for bettering the world. The ongoing sponsorship of We Day is a perfect example of that.

August 22, 2014 by Kathryn 30 Comments

Every once in a while I get the chance to attend an amazing event right here in my home province of Saskatchewan and it just so happens that today is one of those days. Because Katy Perry is coming to the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon on August 28, 2014 at 7pm CST and I’ll be at the show courtesy of COVERGIRL! Needless to say, I am incredibly excited, but that’s not the best part. One of my lucky local readers is going to win two tickets to the show as well!

Now what could be better than seeing Katy Perry live in concert at the Prismatic World Tour? Meeting her in person of course, and the lucky winner and her guest will get to do that too! That’s right, COVERGIRL is also organizing an exclusive Meet & Greet with Katy Perry herself, so not only will you get to watch the show, you’ll also get to meet Katy! [Read more…]
