This Thursday and Friday, the first musical featuring the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and the lyrics of Tim Rice, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, is coming to Regina thanks to DIWC! Do It With Class Young People’s Theatre Company (DIWC) is Saskatchewan’s only pre-professional musical theatre and drama company for children and youth and this weekend they’re bringing the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber to life!
Right now the highly acclaimed Golden Apple Theatre in Regina, SK is delighting audiences with the performance of the adult comedy God of Carnage and they want to send you to the show!
God of Carnage, which had a 15-month run on Broadway, received a Tony Award in 2009. Edgy, funny, and provocative, God of Carnage looks at adult relationships in conflict situation, and examines how conflict can peel away the veneer of civility and reveal our not so civilized private emotions below the surface. God of Carnage runs from from January 30 to February 10th.
The Huron Carole is recognized as Canadian’s first and only real Christmas carol. Incorporating a haunting melody of a sixteenth century French folk song and text written by Saint John de Brébeuf, a missionary to the Huron people, it has been a part of Canadian history since 1643.
It also happens to be my very favourite Christmas carol, and so I was thrilled when I heard that The Huron Carole starring Tom Jackson, a musical event supporting feeding Canada’s hungry, was coming to Regina and Saskatoon this year! The show will be in Saskatoon on December 7, 2012 at the Prairieland Park and in the Queen City on December 9, 2012 at the Connexus Arts Centre and with special guests Sarah Slean, Matt Dusk and Susan Aglukark, it is one of the must-see shows of the holidays!
After years of wild inventions, crazy capers and thwarted evil schemes, Disney’s Phineas and Ferb, the loveable brothers on a mission to make the most of their summer vacation, are making the jump to the stage in Disney’s Phineas and Ferb: The Best LIVE Tour Ever! From the first time I saw an episode of this imaginative Disney series, I was hooked on the unique blend of creativity, quick humour and music that fills every episode. And in just a few weeks, my boys and I will be able to enjoy all those things up close and in person! Here’s a brief synopsis of the show:
“Mom! Phineas and Ferb are going on a LIVE tour!!!” School’s out for summer and anything is possible as Phineas and Ferb create their biggest invention yet- Disney’s Phineas and Ferb: The Best LIVE Tour Ever! For Canada Day this year, my boys and I headed to Wascana Park in Regina, SK to enjoy the festivities, including a performance by the fabulous Splash ‘N Boots! As if that wasn’t exciting enough, they indulged us with a photo opp too!
The boys weren’t sure how to feel about meeting Splash ‘N Boots in person!
Stunning. That’s really the only word that was in my mind after witnessing the Cirque du Soleil Quidam performance at the Brandt Centre in Regina, SK last night. The show was a beautiful marriage of imaginative set design, humour, gorgeous costumes and stunning physical feats that had me on the edge of my seat from the opening moment.
Due to a sudden thunderstorm we didn’t get to enjoy too much of the Canada Day fireworks show in Regina, SK, but my husband did get a few great shots!

Beloved children’s musicians and winners of the 2012 Indie Awards Canadian Children’s Group of the Year, Splash ‘N Boots are once again on their way to Saskatchewan and my boys and I can’t wait to sing, dance and laugh with the fun-loving pair once more. This Canada Day, July 1, 2012, Splash ‘N Boots will be performing live at 5:00 on the Children’s Stage at the Regina Canada Day celebration! And best of all, the show and all the other fun Canada Day events taking place are absolutely free!
