When I want to make a great meal even better, I know that I can’t go wrong with a delicious salad. Fresh romaine, tomatoes, onions, croutons, bacon bits and a delicious dressing…who could say no to that? Of course, nobody knows delicious dressings better than Kraft. I’ve been a fan of Kraft dressings since I first tasted Zesty Italian as a child, and my love has only grown stronger over the years.
This spring, Kraft is shaking things up again with some delicious new products guaranteed to add an extra burst of flavor to any salad-lover’s day. The new Kraft Sizzling Salads kits are the perfect easy way to make a delicious and nutritious entrée salad. Each kit contains a sumptuous salad dressing and a sensational cooking sauce. By following the four step instructions, creating a restaurant-quality salad is no trouble at all. Kraft has also introduced a fantastic new line of refrigerated salad dressings. The pure Kraft Refrigerated Dressings contain delicious real ingredients with no artificial flavors, artificial colors or preservatives. I was delighted when I was given the chance to test a Kraft Sizzling Salads kit and a pure Kraft Refrigerated Dressing for myself.
Kraft Sizzling Salads kits come in four fantastic flavors, Asian, Caesar, Southwest and Greek. I decided to try the Caesar kit for my review. The kit contained a bottle of Cracked Black Pepper cooking sauce and a bottle of Classic Caesar dressing. I couldn’t wait to whip up a salad and decided to make enough for the entire family to have one for supper.
The instructions are conveniently printed on both the box and the individual bottles. Quantities given are for one salad, so I tripled the amounts to make a salad for each of my family members. I cut three chicken breasts into strips and sautéed them in a teaspoon of oil on medium-high heat until they were fully cooked. The instructions called for 2-3 tablespoons of cooking sauce, so I added about six tablespoons to the chicken. I stirred the chicken strips for a minute or two until they were evenly coated and then removed the pan from the heat.
The instructions for the salad were as simple as chopping up the lettuce and adding the dressing, but the label also contained a list of suggested add-ins to make the salad even better. I added garlic and butter croutons and some Parmesan cheese to my bowl of greens and then mixed in the dressing. I portioned the salad onto three plates and then placed the chicken strips on top before proudly presenting the salads to my husband and son.
The salads were absolutely delicious! The Cracked Black Pepper cooking sauce had a definite heat, and would be a great choice for spicy food lovers. For those that prefer milder flavors, I would recommend using half the suggested amount of cooking sauce. The tangy Caesar dressing paired perfectly with the spicy heat of the chicken to create a meal that was light and satisfying at the same time.
The Kraft Sizzling Salads kits have another great use as well. Because the sauce and dressing are designed to compliment each other so well, they are a perfect choice for an outdoor barbeque! The second time I cooked with my kit, I headed outside to do it. I used the cooking sauce as a mouth-watering marinade and sauce for the chicken that I was cooking and then used the dressing to make a Caesar salad to accompany the meal. The two dishes worked together perfectly and let me show off my previously undiscovered barbeque skills. In fact, we all enjoyed the meal so much that I know I have found the perfect dish for my barbeque-loving husband’s Father’s Day meal!
I also reviewed the Asiago Caesar salad dressing from the new pure Kraft Refrigerated Dressings collection. This absolutely decadent dressing combines aged Asiago, Parmesan and Romano cheese, garlic, lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil to create a thick and creamy salad dressing with an unbelievable blend of flavors. I absolutely adore Asiago cheese, and the taste comes through just beautifully in this fantastic salad dressing.
The pure Kraft Refrigerated Dressings are available in six amazing flavors ranging from Raspberry Poppyseed to Barbeque Ranch. I was blown away by how delicious this dressing was, and will definitely be trying the other varieties the next time I buy salad dressing. The fresh, natural ingredients create a huge difference in the taste of the dressing, and it’s thick enough that it makes a wonderful dip for fresh vegetables as well!
Overall, I was incredibly impressed by the new salad dressings from Kraft. The Kraft Sizzling Salads kits are a quick, easy and delicious way to make a healthy meal that the whole family will love. And the pure Kraft Refrigerated Dressings provide solid proof that fresh, high quality and natural ingredients are the most satisfying way to dress up your greens.
