Shindigz Party Supplies-Review and Giveaway

June 12, 2011 by Kathryn 524 Comments

shindigz kit n kaboodle hot wheels party kitThis year, Zackary had his first real birthday party with six of his friends from Pre-Kindergarten. I was very excited about my chance to plan my son’s party, but there was so much to do that I really didn’t know how to get started. I needed games, food, decorations, a cake, tableware and loot bags. To add to my responsibilities even more, Zackary had requested a Hot Wheels party and I had no idea how to incorporate that theme into his event! Fortunately, I discovered Shindigz.

When it comes to parties, Shindigz has it all. From convenient Kit-N-Kaboodle sets containing themed tableware and decorations to party games and photo props to treat bag favours, Shindigz had everything I needed to get started on a fantastic Hot Wheels party for my son. When the company agreed to sponsor the party by providing me with a $50 gift certificate for party supplies, I was thrilled.

The very first item I chose was the incredibly convenient Kit-N-Kaboodle kit in, of course, the Hot Wheels Speed City design! The basic kits start at a very reasonable $15 and include plates, cups, napkins, thank you cards, balloons and even a tablecloth! The kits vary a bit depending on the design and each theme can also be purchased as a deluxe kit with extra decorations and accessories (including a fantastic personalized banner) for $25. I chose the Deluxe Kit-N-Kaboodle for Zackary and just like that, both the decorations and tableware for the party were taken care of!

I asked for Zackary’s input spending the remainder of the gift certificate and after getting some of his opinions, I chose a racecar piñata, a winner’s circle photo prop and an oversized chequered flag with the remainder of my gift certificate.

With the props and supplies taken care of, I was then able to search the Internet for some different games and ideas relating to racecars. I found some inexpensive wooden cars for the boys to paint and my husband spent the evening before the party constructing two play racecars out of cardboard boxes. We were finally ready for the party!

The decorations looked absolutely incredible and I loved the way they coordinated with the tableware. My husband twisted the red and blue streamers together and strung them between our playground equipment and along the fence. Red and blue balloons added a great finishing touch. Finally, the Hot Wheels Speed City cups, plates and napkins stood ready on the bright blue tablecloth. The yard looked amazing!

The kids loved the festive décor as much as I did and the party was a huge success. My husband had so much fun waving the chequered flag to start races with the box cars and the piñata was the highlight of the party! We used the included kit to convert it to a ribbon-pulling piñata and it still looks so good that we’ll probably be able to use it next year as well!

shindigz race car pinataI had a great time both planning and hosting Zackary’s fifth birthday party, but I couldn’t have done it without Shindigz. I absolutely loved the Kit-N-Kaboodle sets; they were the perfect way to ensure that I had all the decorations and tableware I needed. The extra items added so much fun and frolic to the party and next year I think I’ll be saving time by getting my loot bag supplies at Shindigz as well. With a 110% price guarantee I know I’ll always get the best price on my supplies, and the selection is so extensive that no matter what kind of party Zackary decides he wants, I’ll be able to get the items to make it a reality.

If you have a party to plan and you’re not sure where to start, save some time and effort and check out Shindigz for yourself. The prices are fantastic, the selection is unbeatable and the convenience of having your party delivered right to your door is addictive!
