Matt & Steve’s The Extreme Bean is Now Available in Three Addictive Varieties-Giveaway

August 31, 2012 by Kathryn 84 Comments

Looking for a snack with a crunch that packs a nutritional punch? Something salty, tangy and bursting with flavour? You’re looking for Matt & Steve’s The Extreme Bean! I have to admit, I had never heard of this particular snack before, but it sounded intriguing. So when I got the chance to try all three varieties of Matt & Steve’s The Extreme Bean snacks, I leaped at the chance.

the extreme bean and b'noliveThe Extreme Bean is no ordinary green bean. These long, tender beans are pickled in a special brine to create an addictive snack that has real nutritional value. One serving contains 30% of your daily calcium!

I tried The Extreme Bean Hot & Spicy variety first and to be honest, I didn’t expect them to blow me away. I don’t mind a bit of spice every once in a while, but I usually prefer milder flavours. The beans surprised me though; while they did have a distinctive bite, the blend of flavours was really appealing. My husband, who does love spicy food, was the one that really fell in love with this variety of The Extreme Bean, though. He polished off a whole jar on his own one evening for a snack! But in addition to making great snacks, these tasty beans are also delicious popped in a Caesar instead of celery!

The Hot & Spicy B’nOlive was the next treat that I sunk my teeth into. These were quite possibly one of the most original snacks I’ve even encountered: olives stuffed with green beans! The bean-stuffed olives were pickled in the same tangy, spicy brine as The Extreme Bean Hot & Spicy beans and it suited the olives beautifully. While they’re recommended as a great garnish for a martini, they’re also delicious right out of the jar!

the extreme bean garlic and dillThe final treat we tried, and the newest one to be added to The Extreme Bean product line, was The Extreme Bean Garlic & Dill. These beans have the same flavour as dill pickles with the nutrition of green beans! My boys were the big fans of these sour treats. In fact, they would often gobble up a few as a side dish with their meals as well as having them for a snack!

Matt & Steve’s want you to have the chance to try out their delicious pickled beans for yourself, so the company is very generously offering one lucky Mommy Kat and Kids reader a Matt & Steve’s The Extreme Bean prize pack worth $50! To enter to win, just leave a blog comment about which of the three varieties of The Extreme Bean snacks you would most like to try!

Matt & Steve’s The Extreme Bean products are available at grocery and specialty stores across Canada and can also be purchased online at mattandsteve.com. If you’re looking for a tasty salty snack that you don’t have to feel guilty about eating or a garnish for your favourite beverage that will stand out in a crowd, maybe it’s time to get extreme! The Extreme Bean products have a crunch and a flavour that’s sure to satisfy!

YUMMY!!! I’ve been lucky enough to sample a few different varieties including B’n Olives, Hot & Spicy Bean, Garlic & Dill Bean and the Caesar rimmer. Even better thanks to @theextremebean, the first 100 moms at @momstowngeorgna’s #momstownBD5 party were lucky enough to take home a jar of The Extreme Bean in their loot bags! Now after my longwindedness…. 😉
I would love to try the sour apple rimmer on a martini! 🙂
