Minimize Allergens in Your Home this Spring with the Hoover WindTunnel Air Bagless Upright Vacuum-Giveaway

Spring is a wonderful season for the most part. The days are longer, the weather is warmer, the flowers are blooming…but spring can also be a time of misery for those that suffer from seasonal allergies. My oldest son and I both deal with occasional bouts of the trademark sneezing and watery-eyed stuffiness that seasonal allergies bring and while our reactions aren’t terribly frequent, that doesn’t make them any more pleasant!

• Keep pollen build-up at bay by washing bedding every week in hot water
• Wash pets regularly to decrease the amount of pollen that is tracked into your home by frisky pets
• Keep family pets off furniture and remove them from bedrooms, as much as possible to avoid dander deposits

To help my family minimize the allergens in our home, Hoover sent me its fabulous WindTunnel Air Bagless Upright vacuum to review. This lightweight, portable upright vacuum has a lot of power behind it. With a multi-cyclonic filtration system, rinsable filter and a high-quality filter made with HEPA media that traps 99.97% of dirt, dust and pollen, I couldn’t wait to try it out.

Our carpeting spans three stories and ranges from a thirty-year-old high pile carpet in the living room to a fairly new medium pile carpet in the boys’ bedrooms to the rubber-backed low pile carpet in the basement recreation room. And my boys manage to get all three varieties of carpet absolutely filthy in a very short amount of time.

I tried the vacuum on the living room carpet first and as soon as it roared to life, I could see that it was going to be an impressive machine. The suction of the vacuum was fabulous and despite not having vacuumed for a few days, I didn’t notice the vacuum stirring up any dust as I cleaned. Everything was trapped right inside the canister leaving the floor looking fabulous.

The lightweight design was fabulous for our house in particular since I often have to carry the vacuum up and down flights of stairs. I was curious about whether the vacuum would clean the low pile carpet in the basement as deeply and thoroughly as it had cleaned the living room carpet. I shouldn’t have worried.
