I love Christmas for all kinds of reasons and Christmas food has always been one of the highlights of the season for me. But with two boys, quick and easy is still the name of the game for most of my Christmas baking, and that’s why I love whipping up recipes from the Kraft What’s Cooking website! I always find ideas for fast and delicious dishes on the site, but when new recipes for Christmas cakes, cookies and candy start appearing, I always feel like Christmas has truly arrived!
In fact, one of my favourite holiday recipes is one that is available on the Kraft Canada website. I’ve been making it for years and it was one my mother always whipped up for Christmas when I was a child too. No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars are a must for our holidays!
My recipe has some slight variations, mainly in the preparation method since I tend to favour the hands-on experience of stove-top cooking most of the time. But the microwave method is also a great choice for these quick and easy treats!
No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 1-1/2 cups Honey Maid Graham Crumbs
- 1 cup Kraft Smooth Peanut Butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp. coconut oil
Line a 13x9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides.
Melt butter and peanut butter in medium saucepan on low heat until combined. Add icing sugar and graham crumbs; mix well. Press onto bottom of prepared pan.
Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil over low heat until smooth; spread over peanut butter layer. Cool until firm.
Use foil handles to lift treats out of pan. Cut into 64 squares.
The best thing about these No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars is that they freeze beautifully, so they can be made well in advance and stored in a tin in the freezer until needed. A tray of holiday baking is never complete without plenty of these yummy chocolate and peanut butter treats!
Though I have a dozen or so tried-and-true favourites, Christmas is also a time to try new treats! And Kraft Canada has plenty of holiday recipes to tempt me! The Layered Chocolate Coconut Bars are sure to be a new addition to my must-bake list with their combination of toasted coconut, chocolate and cream cheese. And I absolutely love whipping up Holiday Bark with Baker’s Chocolate Squares and whatever mix-ins I have on hand. The wonderful thing about this recipe is that I can customize it to suit whoever is going to be eating it!
No matter what type of treats you prefer during the holidays, Kraft has easy and delicious options for you. Find a new favourite for your family or whip up some edible gifts for loved ones; it’s the perfect way to spread a little Christmas cheer!
