My boys are early risers and while becoming a mother has changed my sleep patterns a lot, I am still most definitely a night owl. So most mornings, Zackary and Benjamin wake up, head downstairs and watch a little television before I get up and get them ready for school. Just as I had expected, Zackary and Benjamin loved the story of Mowgli and his life in the jungle. Baloo the Bear was a favourite character for both of them, and it was watching Baloo dress up as a monkey and dance with King Louie to rescue Mowgli that had prompted my boys’ laughter. I have to admit, I had forgotten myself just how much fun this movie was; the catchy songs and antics of the animals are hilarious and a big part of the reason this movie is such a classic.
