I was never a cat person until my current pet. In fact, I had no interest in pets whatsoever. But my beloved Siamese cross Racer changed all that within a few weeks of joining our household. Her quirky personality, independence and cuddly nature won my heart and I’ve been a cat person ever since.
As a result, I fully admit that I spoil her a bit. She gets the highest quality cat food I can find, she drinks bottled water instead of tap water and she gets fun new treats and toys almost as often as my boys do. It’s all just part of the way that I show my cat love. Arm & Hammer understands my affection, and the company has some great tips for showing your cat a little extra love too:
- Love your cat with attention – life is busy these days, and bonding can take many forms, but nothing says “love” like spending time with them.
- You may not realize it, but litter boxes play a big role in your cat’s happiness and comfort level. Make sure that you have at least one litter box per cat, preferably uncovered and that they are easily accessible. To keep your cat happy, clean the box often and use an odour neutralizing product like Arm & Hammer™ Clump and Seal™ Complete Odour Sealing Clumping Litter. This revolutionary new cat Litter first seals, and then destroys odours for a 7- day odour free home, guaranteed! Just remember to remove clumps & solid waste daily to keep the rest of the litter box fresh.
- Play – Sometimes it can seem like all they do is sleep, but cats get bored too. Give your cat something to do by making sure their environment is stimulating and engaging them in active play with toys. Sometimes, love can be found on the end of a string attached to a stick.
- Treats – once considered the sole domain of canines, cats love a tasty nibble. Some pet parents even bake their own – extra love points if they are heart-shaped! Just make sure not to overindulge your kitty’s appetite.
I also received the new Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal Complete Odour Sealing Clumping Litter to test out myself and since dealing with the cat litter is obviously my least-favourite job when it comes to pet ownership, I was more than willing to see how it compared to the variety I was currently using.
This litter features exclusive technology that seals and destroys odours and I was absolutely amazed by how well it worked. While the litter promises a seven-day odour-free home, I actually have always noticed the worst smell right after Racer uses her litter box. This litter eliminated the smell almost immediately and the litter stayed odour-free for days. It was so nice not having to deal with the smell anymore!
Cleaning cat litter is a pain, but it’s a small price to pay for all the joy and amusement that Racer adds to my life. And having a variety of litter that seals away the unpleasant smell makes the job all the easier so that I can spend less time with the chore of keeping the litter box smelling fresh and more time playing with my pet. Now that’s a good deal for both of us!
At the end of the day, spending time with your pets is the best way to show them you love them. For more ideas on how you can give your pet some TLC, check out this blog post from Bivvy.

my one cat follows the other one like a shadow it is so funny to watch
Our dog Darby loves to cuddle!
My cat Jabba always sits up on her back with her legs spread apart, hence the name: Jabba the Hut
I have 4 cats: Lulu is my queen bee, she was a rescue from the ranch where I used to live. I also have twin tabbies who we discovered in our back yard a few years ago. And my newest baby, who started off as Little Orphan Annie, appeared as a tiny baby last summer. She would eat with the other feral cats outside but was clearly not doing well so when I saw an opportunity I snatched her up and brought her inside. After two weeks quarantine in the back room she joined the pack.
And I am pleased to say Annie is now a healthy happy girl who has not only caught up growth-wise, I’m thinking she will soon be the biggest cat in the house!
I am the proud Mom of 4 furbabies; 3 of whom I rescued (or rather, I rescued 2 and one choose me …) so I know all about the importance of clean cat litter. I have not tried Arm and Hammer litter so this would be a great chance to!
We have 3 cats who require constant feeding, cleaning kitter and treats-giving.
One of my cats insists on laying in the middle of the living room floor on his back, paws in the air. It looks ridiculous.
My cat Verna is named after a character in a Terry Goodkind book who is very devoted and loyal, which is exactly what Verna is. And another cat named Baby after the leopard in the Katherine Hepburn movie “Baby” and she’s exactly as annoying as that leopard. xD
My cat Sacha will only eat food from a bowl or plate, and it has to be cat food (dry or wet) in his eating spots. He WILL NOT touch any food on any plate that is on the table or counters (I wonder why I ever taught him he was permitted there). We’ve tried fish, chicken, ham, and all manner of treats.
My cat loves the water out of Tuna , i yell fishy fishy and he comes running , and he usually comes running every time he hes the can opener lol !
