Knowing the temperature will soon drop and the ground will be covered in snow reminds me of all the little household errands I need to do in order to be ready for winter. always checked the batteries in the smoke alarms
I make sure we have covers for our outside faucets and candles in case the power goes out.
The carbon monoxide detectors get their batteries changed on the day the time changes so I dont forget each year.
Furnace guy is scheduled to come!
Our fall safety chores include vacuuming out the heaters, changing the smoke detector batteries & disposing of all the slippery blackberry briars that hv grown so much they’ve covered the ground!
I check all our fire alarms to make sure they are working and change the batteries.
Have to check all alarms to ensure they’re in good working order.

I change the batteries in the smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
We seal up our windows to keep the cold out and change our outside lights to make sure they last all winter. We also stock up on salt because even though it’s only fall you never know when it’s going to start snowing here (plus the salt sells out faster than you can blink when it does start). It’s better and safer to get prepared sooner.
