One of my fall safety chores is changing out the smoke and carbon monoxide detector batteries.
I change all the batteries in our smoke detectors and make sure the fireplace and the flue is clean and ready to go for using.

make sure vents and ducts are clean and there is nothing blocking any outside pipes. Change the fire alarm batteries with the time change and making sure they are working properly
