About six months ago, I officially reached the point of being in the worst shape of my life. I’d moved from a small town to a small city and as a result, I was suddenly driving everywhere instead of walking. I was having a few too many glasses of wine on the weekend, and then eating way too much when I’d lost my usual restraint. And to top all that off, I was also sleeping less since my boys had a long bus ride to school and I had to be up at six to make their lunches and get them ready to leave.
After coasting along unhealthily for a few months, I knew it was time to make a change. But I also knew that if I tried anything too drastic, I wouldn’t stick with it. So a few months ago, I added some simple, easy-to-maintain habits to my daily life. And while I obviously haven’t had amazing and drastic results, I have lost weight and inches, I have more energy and I finally feel like myself again. These are three of the daily habits I added to help ensure I was living healthier.
Drinking 1 Vitamin Shake
Taking a daily vitamin has been a must for me for a long time, but it’s the power-packed vitamins and minerals in Orange Naturals ND Shake for Women that has really helped me get up and go. Since I’m not a big breakfast fan, making a quick shake in the morning helps me get the protein, fibre and nutrients I need for my day. And the mix is versatile; I can make it into a thick shake with yogurt or a slushy smoothie using frozen fruit. For especially busy weeks, I blend the shake mix with Greek yogurt and freeze it in popsicle moulds. Who doesn’t love having a popsicle for breakfast?
Drinking 8 Glasses of Water
I’ve always struggled to drink enough water in a day, partly because I tend to drink coffee instead. I even considered giving up coffee entirely in an effort to drink more water but in the end, I decided that would be one of those drastic changes I likely wouldn’t stick with. Instead, I got a pitcher with litre markings on the side. Every morning, I fill the pitcher to the two-litre mark. Then, after my morning coffee, I drink only water until the pitcher is empty. It’s a clear and easy way of making sure I reach my goal every day. And for an added boost, I add a package of MagPop to one of my glasses of water! The fizzy, sugar-free supplement contains essential magnesium to help build muscles and increase energy!
Walking for 30 Minutes
When it comes to losing inches off my waist and hips, walking has probably helped most. Due to moving, I had gone from walking at least an hour every day to barely moving at all, except for yoga once or twice a week. I had tried jogging on the treadmill about six months before, but I detested being out of breath and so didn’t stick with it. Thirty minutes was a time I knew I could manage daily and since I like walking, I also knew I’d be willing to keep doing it. To ensure I don’t hit a plateau with my health, I gradually increase the speed after a few days of feeling like the walk is too easy. I don’t want to walk longer, so I walk faster instead!
I have to say that adding MagPop to my diet was probably one of my favourite health changes. There’s no question the supplement is delicious. In my quest for better health, I also added more fibre to my diet, cut down on the amount of sugar and grains I was eating and made a few other healthy upgrades to my life. But these three changes were easy and effective ways of increasing my overall well-being. I love waking up feeling well-rested instead of sluggish lately, and I’m so happy to have the energy to run around as much as I need to during the last few hectic months of school. I’ve also learned that when it comes to my health, small changes are the best changes. If it’s easy to do, it becomes a habit. And healthy habits help ensure I always look and feel my best!

Good luck on making new habits! I need to make some changes too and I’m going to start with walking more!
It so easily creeps up on you. I too have needed to make some changes and have read about Mag Pop!
