When I was a child, one of my favourite special treats was getting to eat at McDonald’s. I loved being able to climb, run and slide at the McDonald’s Play Place. I loved seeing the fun toy that was inside my McDonald’s Happy Meal. I loved my little box of McDonald’s cookies.
McDonald’s was a somewhat magical place to me, and to this day I still remember how excited I was when one of my friends invited me to a McDonald’s birthday party. Ronald McDonald was usually there and the lucky birthday boy or girl always had a special birthday treat bag.
The company has grown and changed so much over the years, but it’s still a little hard for me to believe that McDonald’s Canada is now celebrating a birthday as well…a 50th birthday! For the last 50 years, kids and adults alike have enjoyed favourite foods from Big Macs to Happy Meals to classic Egg McMuffins.
And to celebrate, McDonald’s Canada is letting customers enjoy a blast from the past with $0.67 hamburgers! On August 16th from 11am to 7pm, Canadians can enjoy the classic McDonald’s Hamburger for a special price of $0.67, celebrating the year that McDonald’s opened in Canada – 1967!
The McDonald’s hamburger was always one of our favourite supper choices when I was young. Not only was it an affordable choice, it was also delicious! I remember my onion-hating mother used to always request hers without onions, while my youngest sister preferred her hamburger plain. I liked mine with all the condiments. Oh, the memories!
Make sure you grab yourself a $0.67 hamburger today and take some time to reminisce about your own favourite McDonald’s memories!
