I must admit that I’m pretty happy I still have a few years before I have to deal with that combination of worry and pride that comes with seeing my boys leaving home to head out on their own. Follow your instinct always carry your cellphone with you and keep ur location setting on. Call home at least 4 times a week and always stay with a friend never walk alone at night.
Be yourself. Work hard to achieve your goals while having some fun.
Stay in a residence the first year and get a meal plan.
Check with the school to see what’s allowed in the dorm. No need to buy expensive appliances if they aren’t allowed.
My best tip is to prepare to be homesick or a little anxious. It is normal and will pass as soon as you get settled. Don’t rush home without giving it a chance first.
