I would love to have a generator for whenever the power goes out. I use certain medical equipment that runs on electricity.
Eleven or 12 years ago we were hit badly by Hurricane Juan and we spent 10 full days without power (in the middle of the city) because all of our lines, plus the power box itself were all torn from our house. We were without power for 8 days longer than everyone one else in our area because of this and if we had a generator, we would not have had to send the kids out of town for a week.
We have frequent blackouts in Newfoundland in the winter and it can get pretty cold. I’d love to have a generator as back up for when it happens.
our winters consist of crazy wind and rain storms which causes power outages, this would be fantastic to have to keep everything going.
I live in a marginal flood plain and it often floods in spring. A generator would be great in an emergency to run the sump pump, if the power goes out and the battery back up runs out of power.
A generator would provide us with a measure of safety during a power outage by allowing us to have some light. Hopefully it could power our electric heater as well!
