When we moved into our new custom-built dream house, I had the fun of shopping for brand new kitchen appliances for the first time in my life.
I spent a lot of time and effort choosing the perfect range and refrigerator. But when the time came to choose a dishwasher, I got a much more basic model. “No point in spending a bunch of money on a dishwasher,” my husband said. “They’re all pretty much the same.”
Then LG asked me to review the new QuadWash Steam Dishwasher, and when I read through its features, I could see that there was nothing ordinary about THIS dishwasher!
With four washing arms and a third rack, it looked like everything our current dishwasher wasn’t. I couldn’t wait to give it a try and see if a fancier dishwasher really was worth the higher price tag.
The dishwasher comes in both traditional stainless steel and black stainless. Since our dishwasher is beside our stainless-steel microwave, the traditional stainless was the best fit for our kitchen. I loved its sleek look, and the way the buttons were on the top of the door instead of on the front of the machine.
And the functions the LG QuadWash Steam offered were nothing short of incredible! From heavy duty steam cycles (TrueSteam® virtually eliminates the need to pre-wash) to energy-efficient half load cycles, getting just the right wash for my dishes was as easy as could be.
The LG QuadWash Steam also features SmartThinQ connectivity, which allows me to monitor and diagnose my dishwasher usage on the SmartThinQ app. I just downloaded the app, pressed the Wifi button on the dishwasher and then let the two connect!
Now, when the dishwasher is running, I can see how long is left in the cycle and get a quick notification when my dishes are clean. And by connecting other LG devices to the SmartThinQ app, I can monitor and manage my entire household.
But aside from all the fancy and functional features, there were two things that really made me fall in love with this dishwasher. The first was how absolutely whisper quiet it is when running. It’s the quietest dishwasher I’ve ever heard!
I had been told when appliance shopping that any modern dishwasher would likely be significantly quieter than the older one in our townhouse. And with no prior experience using a dishwasher, I took the salesman at his word.
So, when the dishwasher that we’d purchased filled the main floor with its rumbling, I just assumed that’s how all dishwashers worked. After my first day with the LG QuadWash Steam, I realized just how wrong I had been.
The QuadWash Steam is so quiet when running that I actually can’t tell when it’s on until the water starts draining! The loudest part of the cycle is right at the end, when the machine plays a little song to let me know my dishes are clean.
And I’ve realized that in a house with an open concept layout, it really does make sense to ensure you buy the quietest dishwasher you can find. It makes conversation so much easier!
The second feature that won my heart is one that I didn’t realize would be an issue until using our previous dishwasher. When using this dishwasher, my dishes come out perfectly clean, every single time.
I would have thought that clean dishes were a given when using a dishwasher, but the difference in quality between my previous dishwasher and this one really was a shock. No matter how heavily I loaded in dirty dishes or how dirty those dishes were, I enjoyed sparkling clean results.
After two weeks with the LG QuadWash Steam, I’m not sure how we ever got by without it. It’s given me a strong appreciation of the difference between a basic dishwasher and a high quality one. It really is worth the higher price tag for a machine that works so much better!
While I wish I’d known about the LG QuadWash Steam when I was first shopping for appliances, I’m very grateful that I was given the chance to test it out and see for myself what I was missing. This dishwashers sounds like everything mine is not..lol. The four racks, the quietness and playing tune when it’s finished. I want one, maybe in the New Year we can look into replacing our dinosaur.

Our dishwasher is about twenty years old. It is pretty quiet and still fairly functional but I would love to replace it with one like in the post!
We replaced all of our kitchen appliances this past summer and, like you, the dishwasher was the one I thought I wouldn’t care about. Now that I’ve spent months using the new appliances, the dishwasher is the one I love the most. Actual clean dishes after an almost silent wash cycle is like a dream come true! My only complaint is that I still manage to forget to unload the third rack at least once a week. It really hides up there!

I also learned that if you have soft water to lessened the amount of soap to about 1/2 the recommended amount to lengthen the life of a dishwasher or washing machine.
