Get Inspired to Meet Your Goals for 2016 with Top Titles from Netflix

I’ve already shared quite a few of my goals for 2016, and one of my top ones is to do more traveling. With all the changes that took place in my life in 2015, travel had to take a bit of a back seat. But now that my house has been sold, the plans are in place for our move to Ontario and my boys are settled in for the rest of the school year, I have time to focus on fitting more travel into our lives. And to keep me inspired about my goal, I’m turning to Netflix Canada!

I’ve long been a fan of the many great documentaries on Netflix, and I’m not the only one. My oldest son first started watching documentaries when he was just five years old; I remember coming downstairs one morning to find him completely enthralled by a program on the Galapagos Islands. One of the facts I’ve found to be true time and time again when it comes to making positive lifestyle changes is that small steps can make a big difference. This year, Church & Dwight has a few easy tips that can help you live a healthier life all year long…without the stress of trying to stick to a New Year’s resolution! Here’s four simple goals that anyone can maintain with ease in 2016:

Take the stairs:

You can take small steps towards a healthier you, literally. Not quite realistic if you work on the 42nd floor, but think escalators at the mall, moving sidewalks at the airport, that errand that’s a two minute drive away…skip all shortcuts and walk! You can also get a pedometer or smartphone fitness app that counts your steps and calories burned so you can measure your results.

My Top 3 Health and Wellness Goals for 2015

While I don’t usually make specific New Year’s Resolutions, January for me has always been a time to reflect on the successes of the past year and make new goals for the year ahead. This year, there are a few different aspects of my life that I aim to improve and one of those is my health and fitness level.

I’m at a healthy weight overall, but I know that there are many nutritional areas I could improve and since I’ll soon be turning 34, ensuring good health is only going to get more and more important as the years go by. So for 2015, these are my top three health and fitness goals:

1. Exercise

I have to admit that exercising regularly is never something I’ve enjoyed. And for the most part I haven’t really needed to do it either since I walk or bike when running errands and live a fairly active lifestyle overall. But with my boys growing older and gaining more independence, I find I’m not moving around as much as I used to. That’s why for 2015, I’ve decided that in addition to my daily physical activity, I will do at least 30 minutes of strength-training three times a week. My daily errands may give me the cardio workout I need, but they aren’t very effective at building muscle! [Read more…]
